ya 4.0 caused full auto on some guns. The only time you could have got your gun flashed with 4.0 was at the norcal vs socal game last jan. People didnt chatch it tell the end of the day. On one of the gun i saw, after you pulled the trigger 3 times and let go it would go full auto on its own. You had the tap the trigger again to get it to stop.-Jr/High school paintball coach

Well, the software is pretty much dead because of the safety issues. It's been taken as far as it will go, and no further work will be put into it. There are unresolveable hardware problems that the software cannot address without a performance hit. It's tuned to the edge of not working correctly.Originally posted by bballe336ok since everyone i ask doesnt answer i have to make a thread about it. ok my question is what are the problems that 4.0+ software causes? and if there are problems what is agd dojng about them?

It was never sold that way - only a handful of people got it at the norcal vs socal event. Otherwise it's never been officially released to the general public.Originally posted by DiSoRdeRIf I remember right they have problems which make them full auto, I do not know for sure. Since they were unsafe they stoped selling 4.0's and are flashing them back down.

Emag 4.0 Software? A chance for it to see day light??
Hey there..Originally posted by MiscueWell, the software is pretty much dead because of the safety issues. It's been taken as far as it will go, and no further work will be put into it. Ok, I thought I had read that the guy working on the software (and heck if I can remember his name) had said that he believed he had solved the problem with the 4.0 software?, had done numerous tests with it and it worked fine and as far as he was concerned it was good to go... BUT at that time it was owned by Tom Kaye and Tom felt that it should not be released due to the fact that it still MIGHT go full auto (understandable from Tom's point of view).
Now the question I have is (and No, I do not own a Emag), Will Dave Zupe now consider releasing the 4.0 software now that I would guess he would own it? Of course I understand that Tom didnt want it released and I respect that, but could there of been underlying factors such as the descision to retire that could of stopped the sale? Basically did Tom say no because he didnt want to have the 4.0 software cause any issues during the dealings with Mr. Zupe?? Of course at the same time I also understand that Tom didnt feel it was safe and that could be that!! No other reason... But who is to say except Tom him self.. I'll shall not judge!! I am just asking the base question is all
Just a open thought about the 4.0 software.
Again, I do not own an emag (would love to!!!!) but I just can not afford the lowers for one LOL... Now building a spyder mag MIGHT be possible, might be able to get a whole trigger frame and board for the cost of the Emag board!!
Just something for people to question and think about

Well, the guy that wrote it believed the problem was solved but found a possible counter-example. Although, it did show promise - it possibly did not solve the problem.Originally posted by BattlewearHey there..

As far as the rest goes... dunno. It's AGD's software - they own it and can do whatever they want.

LOL ok, there is the fella who I was thinking ofOriginally posted by MiscueProbably not - I don't think he writes software. Who would want to anyway?
MISCUE!
Miscue, is that correct? the 4.0 ended up having a relapes of sorts? Just currious..
Also, do you know what Mr. Zupe's take on the software is? Is he in favor of keeping the emag going or following the same path that Tom was laying down?

I doubt 4.0, or 4.01/xx/new release will come about. Just use hybrid mode on 3.2, and you'll be fine.God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

I was thinking (I know, dangerous) and figured why not just change the software to read 3.3?Originally posted by MiscueProbably not - I don't think he writes software. Who would want to anyway?
Heck, there's enough clueless PBers wanting the latest thing without any understanding of what the latest thing is or what it actually does.
You might not be selling to a large percentage of Emag owners once you get to 3.9, but it'll be a fun and profitable ride.
