If Tournament paintball was run by the players of the sport for the players and not run by the industry this problem could have been controlled years ago. I dont see any changes in the right direction for years to come. Makes me kind of sick actually.

To controll the problem, not to go into it much but would require serioius punishment ranging from kicking the player out of the event, disqualifying their entire team, or some for of fine. Now tournament ball is still expensive to play, so a fine of some sort is a really big hit but definately not out of the question on the so-called "PRO" level. To me "pro" does not mean much to me in this sport right now, but those are the sponsored teams and they could be made example of with fines, and save the DQ penalities for "Amateur"

But again we cannot really begin to look at changing anything when no one really cares about it. I wish I had a disposable income and the time to devote to starting up a national league. An organization that is run by players for the players of the sport. I have an entire plan in my head that would work out fine given the money and time spent, would also most likely lower all around costs for teams to compete more affordably. But it would never work right now... So I just really wasted my time typing anything about this subject

Ehrrrr.......you might want to check with a few of the original NPPL guys about this idea. It was tried in the early early days of NPPL (I was around back then, watched it happen). Great idea and model....just ask Steve D (rabidchuhuahua) about it. Formed by players and top teams to combat against the high cost of the old tourny series, poor and biased reffing, etc. Then everyone saw the huge piles of money and amount of newly found influence they had, and it turned into exactly what it was formed to protest against.

There's no real solution here......as long as we keep thinking inside the box......and we can't afford the $$ to enact the solution outside the box.

Play with fair and honest paintballers. That's your local solution. Let those without honor all funnel themselves into the scene where their cheating is acceptable.

I know exactly what you are talking about.

Its not that hard to not be influenced by the money. There are a lot of people out there however that see that money and just cant say no to it. Taking away the best interests in the sport for the best interests of themselves.

The idea is sound, but without getting rid of all the big egos in the sport today its not going to happen.
