    probably dumb question

but can i cut the power feed on a clasic mag, so that my hoopper doesn't stick out as much. and if so how would i go about doing that? i was thinking maybe a copper saw, but i wasn't sure if maybe i'd need a torch.

I'm sure you could do it, but it might not look too pretty when your done. Try a table saw or maybe a miter saw.

I used a band saw. You only want to take off about 5/8.

You'll need something to cut stainless steel. Try to cut it about 1/16" longer than you need to leave a little room for clean up.

          Measure twice, cut once!!

?!! i hope that was a joke, because that is dangerous and almost impossible to do cleanly. use a pipe cutter. a hack saw would work, but it wouldnt be as clean.

It can be done, I have done it. I used a hacksaw, marked of 5/8" +/-, cut, then filed the edges clean. Then I had the body chromed, but you can polish it.(I went the lazy way and paid for shiney )

or you can just have Luke turn your standard feed body into a vert feed body like this:

It looks great and works even better. Gives you a clear line of site and you can still use powerfeed barrels on it. Click on the link in my sig about custom work to find out more.

I would use a pipe cutter, or a hacksaw then sand down the edges to take off any possible burrs.
