    XMag Production

I just recently purchased a used XMag. How come they stopped producing them? I just wanted to get some more background on this. I have read really good things about the marker and I can't see why they would do something like that.

In a nutshell, it was a legal risk to keep producing elctronic markers.

They should get all of their legal stuff in order and continue production. There's risks in everything.

Tom also mentioned that they were stopping production because:

          - emag design is old
          - extremely expensive to produce
          - legal trouble brewing
My AIM Intimidator is better than your Automag. Get over it.

There was a question of patents, and possible licensing fees which is still unresolved, SFAIK. And if you look at the numbers of EMags & XMags produced, it wasn't worth it. It's a high-end piece of kit, and to spread the fees over the low production numbers would have probably made the prices prohibitive.

Do a search. I'm sure TK posted his reasons sometime last year.

If you ask me the cost of the pro isn't too cheap neither for mid 90's tech.

Many marker have greatly improved. In there prospective lines they have all got better. The quality of the pro is lacking to the guns before it. It works, but it isn't the minimag, RT classic, or E/Xmag. The quality of these 4 markers was cuting edge. Yet they are gone. I don't think the Rtpro is going to keep AGD afloat. With quality a side because the pro is still better than a spider in quality. The spider will out sell the pro everytime cause it isn't pricey and it will shoot just as quick. When you consider that a pro goes for 400/450 and you can run down to Wal-Mart and pick up an electro 200 or less that shots as fast the choice is clear to the buyers.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread Beauty. Good job in choosing the Xmag. What color is it? Got pics?

The pro has the bloody X-valve, which will let out a sting of consistant, reliable shots when copmpared to a blowback. Mechanical cockers still can go for around 400 new, and in all honesty they simply cant cycle like an xvalve.

Was it last year when that guy did the 32.6 mechanical full auto test on the x?

In addition, compare the trigger pull of an rt to a spyder. Trust me, I was playing with a friend using a fenix electro spyder and he definitly preferred my RT over that thing.

but what it sounds like whats he is trying to say is that it not the feel of the gun that attracts casual fans. you know as well as i do most people just starting out in paintball with little or no knowledge of the sport is going for the cheaper prouduct

and here I was of the opinon that the RT pro was one of the best deals going. For $400 it's practically a steal IMO.

That's okay, now I have some background on the whole issue. I really appreciate everyone's opinions. I currently own the AutoMag RT Classic with the lvl 10. I can honestly say it have never chopped a ball. The only problem I had with it was that it would not fire when I was under attack behind a bush, I was desperate and gave the valve (where you adjust the velocity) a good smack and it started working again. I am really excited about my new x-mag . Anything else I should know about my new x-mag? I think I attached a picture. I am new at this.
