The tip would not matter. You need a redesigned reg piston. Kinda like years ago when they had the HP reg piston for when people went to HPA over CO2.

RIGHT. My stupid, didn't think straight on that one.

So, the right question is: How difficult would getting a different reg piston be?

        That's just plain stupid.

For arguments sake: If you could double the number of shots fired but it tripled the pressure left in the tank would you not think it better? By the vacuous logic above you would.

Even if the change isn't that drastic, are you seriously telling us that you'd consider it better to use the tank to the bottom than get a few hundred more shots instead? That's just stupid.

Good question. If you wanted to be unsafe about it, you could just make your own without an overpressure port.

I wonder if the piston from an FN303 would work.

I also remember John Sosta and John Bonich doing some work with a whole series of different spacers in the valve chamber to change the volume and pressure ratio.

And I remember how he got around the pressure vent problem. Gotta love Sosta and his inventing.

            EDIT: Yep Muzikman guessed it.

My lvl5 Mag doesn't have the saftey blowoff valve in the reg piston.

I also have a Proto Field Rental AIR valve that is running a reg piston that looks close to a 3000psi flatline piston.

So it would be cool if some one could take measurements of the inserts for us to tinker with.

                Hyper Parts

I went into the old parts drawer and look what I found!! Hypermag parts!! The reg piston, spacer/plug, and spring pack.

No hype, No BS, just the truth.

So, who's going to get this to work with a lvl10 bolt?

Gut reaction is that any inrease in efficiency might be better. As the final pressure in the dump chamber is now higher becasue of the lvl10, wouldn't more energy be saved by limiting the size of the chamber?

Just need to block that vent.

Did any statistics get compiled from testing of the lvl7 hypermag?

Would be nice to have a lvl10 bolt that had a removable stem that could be replaced with a solid sstem to create a light weight lvl7...

I thinkered with a lvl10 bolt that didnt vent. Only played with it for 2 weekends and I didnt see what I was looking for. I went back to a Proto Super Bolt, Now that was weird after shooting a Lvl 10 for so long.
