Rumor: Bob long to expose cheater board users

I heard a rumor that Bob Long has set aside like 32 pages of paid advertisement to post pictures of players that use cheater boards and the manufacturers that support them - interesting idea, wonder how he's going to avoid implicating BLAST and its players?

WAS bounced. That was due to the user incorrectly using the software. WAS never came from the factory with modes..

I don't believe it. Somebody might do such an article (though I'm with the others- what's the point?) but I highly doubt Bob Long will be doing it. One of the very earliest aftermarket chip/board makers was contacted by Bob, who was looking for improved boards for the then-new Intimidator, and who specifically asked for "special" versions of the board for his teammembers.

The "special" options requested were ramping dwell and a "hidden" autoresponse or "turbo" mode. As I was told (firsthand information, by the way) the enhanced mode was supposed to engage after 200 cycles. So basically after you've dumped your first hopper, the gun would have started "adding" shots.

And remember, this was before WAS... But then, one of the first electros on the field- the Shocker 4X4- came with a "cheater" board, so the idea in general was nothing new.

The company in question, by the way, turned down a lucrative contract for 'Timmy boards, simply because they didn't want to be associated with having made "cheater" boards... as WAS is now.

One doesn't often see morals outweigh the wallet in this sport.
