I thought it looked decent, especially for a prototype, except for the trigger, which is noted is only there for testing...

If you read the literature, NO ONE ever said that they impart 'spin'. (SSR's have straight rifling, and they improve accuracy, so there goes the 'spin' contention out the window.)

Properly made rifling for paintball barrels (definition of properly made = progressive polygonal rifling) create more surface area for the ball to seal against and help to reduce and minimize ball wobble and bounce down the barrel.
              And you're addressing me why?
I just pointed out some sarcasm.

Any statistical testing/data to back the claims?
Any empirical data or proof of wobble and bounce in different barrels?

No scientific research here, just my experience with barrels that I own: I have a stealth barrel, shoots darts. I have used a CCI Phantom, they have grooves cut into the last portions of the barrels, again shoots darts. Are these better than standard barrels? I don't know, but they work!

id like to see the proof that having a rifled barrel is any more accurate then a non rifled barrel. yes, you may sell a lot of them, but then again, people are stupid. if someone working a paintball shop wants to sell armson barrels to a customer he can tell them that a rifled barrel is more accurate, and the unknowing customer (who has maybe heard about rifling making a difference on a bullet as opposed to a paintball) will buy it because every newbie that first gets into paintball wants "the most accurate barrel ya got!"

im sorry if my comments seemed stupid to you, RRfireblade, but its not like you havent made comments on this forum that have no backing whatsoever. when you first announced here that PTP had a pneu frame for the mag and had prior art as opposed to DW, you said something to the effect (not a direct quote, sorry, dont have it in front of me) that this was no surprise because PTP had made many leeps in bounds in the paintball world, which made me laugh, sorry. you then listed off some of those accomplishments, naming rifled barrels and body kits (you forgot PTPs stupid M 16 conversion kits for tippys). friend, riffled barrels and body kits havent done CRAP for paintball.

if you and your rabid-whatever friend want to sell more crap for your company then more power to you, but please, hold the BS.

What the heck are you talking about?

                                PTP is not my company,

                                Rabid-whatever doesn't work for them,

and what, does every single product a company manufactures have to be ground breaking?

Why so deragatory about M16 (as you call it) Tippy products? What's wrong with selling something people want and giving them a good product? PTP's scenerio series product is some of the highest quality accessories available, period. PTP was also one of, if not the first company to bring scenerio product to the paintball world. Now our product is THE most copied and THE fast growing segment 'in' paintball and Scenerio play 'is' the fastest growing and considered by some,to be the long term future of the sport. As for the product line, everything there is high grade milled aluminum,Fiber reinforced composites and completely Mil Spec. PTP has those markers and upgrades in active training duty both here in US mililtary,Law enforcement and in a number of armed forces training programs all over the world. Just cause you think Tippys are low grade markers, not worthy of upgrades doesn't make it so.

PTP, btw, 'HAS' made more than thier share of ground breaking advancements and contibutions to Paintball over the last 20 years in both product development for them and a huge host of other companies as well as being perhaps the leader in the development of saftey and awareness standards both ASTM and other. I could really care less if you happen to agree with or belive that or not. Go find some other thread to "troll" into, talk out of your butt and create disruption for no apparent reason.

                                Thanks.
