i remember when my friend got a Shutter, it was the most amazing thing ever, especially compared to the rentals we were used to using.
most people who buys spyders and the like probably don't know too much about the sport, and if they bought the marker in the store it probably WAS the best marker at the store (we're talking walmart here people) and they probably have no idea better guns exist.

Now I know some of you will obviously disagree with me but, in my honest opinion, I think Spyders are some of the best guns on the field, for the money anyway.
And when you "show them up" is it because you have a more expensive gun, or because you're a better player?

O.o...and yes...although I would take a tippmann over a spyder...spyders are some pretty nice stuff for what they are. But it stinks when you allready know about all the cool guns out there, but you just cant afford them. So you get a tippyOriginally posted by matt2680Now I know some of you will obviously disagree with me but, in my honest opinion, I think Spyders are some of the best guns on the field, for the money anyway.

I couldn't agree more. The overall value Spyders and other stacked-tube blowbacks provide brings more people into the sport, benefitting all of us (players, fields, merchants, and manufacturers).Originally posted by matt2680Now I know some of you will obviously disagree with me but, in my honest opinion, I think Spyders are some of the best guns on the field, for the money anyway.
As for the attitudes of some of the owners, are you acting any differently by complaining about them? Instead, be someone they look up to. I'm sure they already know how to whine; teach them something productive, like sportsmanship.

Noobs and Spyders . . . . .
Last time I went and played paintball there was a kid there, perhaps he was 13-14 and he had a real nice Spyder. The kid had played for a few years and he had some good skills. He was playing hyperball and speed ball and he did just as good as the Hype Kids that had there uber $$$ markers. He got as many hits as the other's and had just as much fun..
When I started I bought a Spyder and used it until I got a Blazer and I GAVE my Spyder to a friend son. He played with that thing for a while and then bought a newer marker.
I think that any marker that gets peeps out on the field is a good marker. And we all know that it isn't the marker that makes a player it the person behind the marker.
It doesn't make any difference to me if someone has a Talon or a Timmy with spinners
Just as long as they get out there and sling paint.

everyone started somewhere, and if you said that you were never cocky when bragging to your friends when you started (im sure some kids still do) then your just lieing to yourself.
those who play counterstrike know theres a difference between a "noob" and a "newbie"
those "new" people could be considered newbies, as they are new to the sport, and theres nothing at all wrong with that
newbie- new person

I remember when my e-99 avant was the best thing I had ever bought. I loved it so much, until I realized it chopped 1/5 balls and was louder than a shotgun....then when I got my 68 mag, it opened up an entire new world, and I was no longer so self centered about my gun, or skill. Some sort of paradigm shift (sp).Originally posted by SAWHow did you feel about your first marker?Comment
