    Thoughts on Angel?

    Hey guys,

I'm just trying to get some input regarding angels. What are your opinions regarding them? I've been seriously considering getting one and then throwing the pneumag trigger on my current mag when it comes out.

I've asked over at the angel-owners website but that's obviously going to be a little bias so I thought I'd ask here also. Everyone so far seems to feel they are reliable, durable, efficient and fast as hell with no chopping.

Older ones do chop. the new ones are as described. But dang the have a price tag!!! I would get one if I had the money. The 05 speed is a nice marker.

well my teamate and best friend has one, and at first it shot with the nastiest recoil and was super loud and broke 1 of 5 balls. and we couldnt get it too shoot under 350. but then we found out that we were both dumb asses and bought a low pressure tank. after that it was sweet money. Its super fast and the trigger is a little wierd at first cause of it being plastic but it turn sweet in a little bit. super fast. compared to a mag, its like 8 stories tall. i mean it is a tall mofiscis. ok weight. range good and acuraccy. good gun in my books, but it is really tall

oh yeah and it is a 05 speed

had one, didnt like them. They are not worth the money IMO. After having so many probs with mine, I vowed never to own another angel again. IMO, dont get one.

Older ones shoot like a dream, especially with a good bit of work done to them. Newer ones are fast but artificial feeling. NO personality.

The Angel doesn't know you have oiled it it is a shot counter triggered announcement, you have to reset the board after an oil service...does tell you this in the manual.

I have a 2k1 LCD and LOVE it!!! I NEVER chop paint and as long as I don't use seconds, I don't break any.

I have also owned a Timmy, and a KAPP autococker. The Angel is by far the best. My timmy was almost as fast as my angel, but had more recoil, and chopped more paint. The autococker was ok, but too slow for my taste.

Seeing as how well my 2k1 works, I couldn't imagine how the new ones are.

Well if you had replaced the cops sensor you would probably been ok. I will say that the software for the IR3 was a little picky as to when it will work (charging etc, several upgrades were released) so it wasn't much of a surprise when the IR3 was discontinued. Straight shot squegees are the main culprit for bad sensors due to the angle of pressure they put on the cops rod the same is true with the battle swabs...although they are better they can also do the same damage, if of course you are not careful.

                      I have both!

Between my son and I we have three Angels and three Automags. I love them both.

The Angels are super reliable and very air-efficient. I can play almost all day on one tank 68/4500. The only time my Angels have chopped balls was when I had a bad batch of paint. This paint was so brittle that it would break when dropped from waist high. It was actually breaking in my loader when dropped in from a pod.

Cost shouldn't be a problem unless you will only by new. I bought all of my Angels (for that matter all of my guns) used (one was NIB) and have been very pleased. You can get a used Angel for around $400 to $800 depending on the model and age. I have paid as much for my Automags and more after I modded them with must haves x valve, trigger pull kit / level 10 bolts. Not to mention the ULE parts. I probably have more $$$ invested in my mags.

If you are interested, I have 2 Angels I am selling. Primarily because I have nine markers and need some cash. PM me and I will forward the info if you are interested. LMK
                      ......You know you want one!!

Thank you but I will probably buy new. Also, the new ones have the eyes which apparently eliminated the problems associated with the older detection systems.

well, here is the prob I had w/ mine. The LPR crept up beyond all adjustments. There was no way removing shims was going to lower the LPR it was stuck at 120psi regardless. It was loud, kicked hard, wanst accurate. Then I kept getting a hiss from my 14 way which I rebuilt and fixed, then the gasket leaked, then the hammer/ram started leaking. Then I blew a cupseal.

It was a nightmare from hell. I have yet to own another gun that had these types of probs. It was well maintained too.

The gun I shoot now blew the angel away. Id rather shoot a viking w/o eyes than an angel.

Then I shot my friends 05 speed and wasnt impressed at all.

Thats just my Experience w/ angels, everyone may not have the probs I did.

I have owned a Dark Angel LED, 2 LCD angels, a speed. out of those 3 I recommend the LED.
that gun was a tank. NEVER let me down. my LCD's where junk I literally went though 5 boards in one of them. Speed was fast but sensi IMO is junk. Replaced it numerous times. Had it tuned by service centers a few times, still broke them.

if your going to get a angel get a new one with eyes.
