it may look like a lot of mark up but if that marker is all you sell that day and you are paying

rent 1200.00 per month
electricity 200.00 per month
water 150.00 per month
a person to work behind the counter 8-10 per hr
the shipping on the product to get it there 20.00
advertising for the shop A LOT!!!!
and you had to but 7 of the markers to get the 680 price tag

and they are sitting on a credit card collecting interest

it no longer looks like highway robbery

Add to it the chance of getting sued if you sold a marker that violated ASTM standards and someone is hurt...
