Additionally, the Snelgrove family is considering suing FN Herstal. Wonder what this could mean for AGD military/LEO contracts...

the problem is the officer who shot her was never trained in the use of the fn303 and shot her in the head, apperently he was just shooting into a crowd without actuly aiming
and as for FN getting sued, that is the problem with this country, they did nothing wrong, it was out of their control that boston pd or mass state police did not train the officer. and yet for some reason people need to sue becaue they built a LIFE SAVING device

I have to agree with you on this, family shouldn't get squat considering the daughter was at the scene of the chaos where anyone with common sense would have exited stage left.Originally posted by Buffso.....you riot, die, and then family gets money?
Its a sad state when the victim gets sued for beating the tar out of the guy that tried to mug them. Even sadder is a theif suing for medical damages when he was shot by the homeowners when they found him inside their residence.
You play in the fire, you're going to get burned, that's life.

Also IMHO as much of a tragedy as this is there needs to be some blame but on the "victim". She chose to be in Landsdown St knowing full well (if she didn't know then she must have been very dense) that things could turn bad very quickly. Boston sports fans (READ: drunken lout college students who pretend to be Boston Sports fans) have a history (in recent years) of being rowdy and causing general mayhem in the event of a big win. Should she have died no, not at all, and yes it is a tradgedy. Yes I do feel compasion for her family but she put herself in a bad situation, even if she was an innocent bystander. I guess that's my rant and I'm sticking to it. please feel free to flame away

Kenmore Sq. was one thing but she was up on Lansdowne Street, which runs along the Green Monster of Fenway Park. They closed off the street and people were trying to climb the outside of the wall of the park. BPD gave PLENTY of warnings. As much as it's a tragedy, from the police perspective -- they gave them plenty of warning before the pepperspray pellets were used. Maybe the officer was negligent for firing it blindly into the crowd but the people shouldn't have been there in the first place.
(I know because I was there. I was leaving Boston Billiards, walking down Brookline Ave towards the park when I heard the police give the warnings to disperse, to get off the wall, etc. I bailed out quicker than Maverick from the entire area. I knew it would turn ugly).

O'Toole, Milien, and Patrolman Samil Silta fired the weapons ''at TARGETED individuals" in the crowd on Lansdowne Street, striking at least four people, a police statement in November said. The statement said Snelgrove was struck when a pellet ''missed its intended target," who was not identified.Comment
