Again the subject comes up and again the real meaning is lost. AGG was originally used as an insult online meaning A Gay Guy it has since transformed into the answers above but then this is so often the way with way too many people use a term blindly not knowing what it really means and it loses it's effect and in this case it's meaning...well it hasn't lost it's meaning, it is ignorance of origin that has caused these people to decide on their own meaning. But go ahead and use the term, everytime I see it used I don't think of something being cool nor aggressive, just an inarticulate person trying too hard

You know Mark always has these seemingly well researched, considered, and to use his word articulate posts. I wonder if he realized that, because he's British, most of us don't pay them any attention and don't get too concerned if he thinks we are a bunch of inarticulate dogs.

Just kidding man, I just couldn't pass it up

          Levi Strauss denim :)

Do the 80 points of penalties my team took help? Does the fact that I have a player on my team who has been suspended for next tournament help? The fact is... "Aggness" (so misued, sorry Mark) tends to be annoying. I'm sure my team is going to have some "issues" after it showed through on some of our players... and I would expect to see a different team composition by next tournament.

actually, agg didnt mean a gay guy, it has always meant agressive, and was adopted from early surfing and skating, or agro skating.

All joking aside...I know many look and see my name and skip what I say very often, if they don't already have me set to ignore I mean how can a mere Brit know anything the replys in some the threads I have taken part in show this many times. But that isn't an American or British thing it is an internet thing, people speed read things and in many case's also speed type no waht i meen?

When you consider that the sports you are talking about had their languages/terms well before you were born...extremely doubtful that the Rad/cool/wipeout/grind/ollys crowd would develop a term even slighty associated to a real word, even a shortened form of one. Surfing took off in the 60's, roller skating is the late 70's (inline late 80's early 90's) and the skateboard was the mid 70's (although some will say even earlier)

AGG= Shortened version of Aggro..derived from the word Aggressive.
Late 70s Early 80s Surf/Skater term. Defines a behavior of Aggressive actions.
Used to apply to a style of skating or surfing . Usualy the toughest places or style.
Also see "slashing" or " ripping"
Now...basicly an aggressive style of play and style.
Just apply to paintball rather than the bananna boarding long hairs that used to use it:)

The online use came along MUCH later... and since it was usualy a coastal surfer / skater term...odd are the token English guy wouldnt know what it REALY meant:)

"Agg" is basically the state of having what's considered "in" on pbnation.

Custom annoed Dm5's may be considered Agg. Wearing pink is considered Agg. Wearing leapard patterns like Infamous is Agg. Wearing designer beanies is Agg.

Its pretty much PBN's term for a fad. Its just like "shoots darts", "shoots lasers", "mows muppets", etc.

I hear it originated in skateboarding as an acronym for "A Gay Guy". The story is something like some skaters told a couple of posers "If you want to be AGG, wear pink all the time". It was some sort of joke. Well, there's a million stories but I found that one humerous and believable.

Most people with a brain between their ears hate the term AGG. If somebody called my marker AGG, I'd have to break it in a million places.

There are more than one or two english people on here but point taken

Incidently try a search for AGG on google 865,000 results and for the first 40 pages of results only one comes back as connected to paintball....none for surfing/skating/skateboarding and to counter check this try agg, surfing, skating, skateboarding...zero results just the words surfing, skating and skateboarding come back as highlighted..agg comes back as a single result and only as an abbrieviation to do with an artwork project. For such a well established pastime/sport of surfing/skating/skateboarding it is surprising that a link hasn't popped up.
Remember that each generation believes that they invented something or another even if their parents said the same when they were that age, many terms from the 20's mean similar things as today but you don't hear them used, same applies to the 60's hip and square and cats all in widespread use at the time but used now? Not really unless you count those in the odd song or two.
All this aside AGG in my mind means A Gay Guy or if I could make it fit A Stupid Term

Agg... Like someone said, I think it's a PBN 'fad' word... However, I do classify guns as agg. Here's my 'Agg Gat Philosophy':

Pump: Permanently agg, no matter what
High End Electros: Only agg if milled or annoed
High End Mechs: Only agg if it is used as a primary gun or it is an Automag
                            Low End Electros: Rarely agg
                            Low End Mechs: Nice try...

Now that was a good one!

Thanks for all of the replys. Sometimes I feel really clueless because I don't know what the new "buzz words" are for paintball. Most of them sound stupid and don't make any sense (to me)
What the hell does "mow muppets" mean? Who comes up with this crap and why do people think that it's cool to say?

I guess I'm just too old for the lingo, but that's fine by me. I can hold my own on any field against any player.
