Because porting simply wastes air. And the second larger stage in a 2 stage barrel provides less efficient propulsion than a one piece barrel. -
I'm looking for a longer effective length barrel because I want to test the my theory that a level 10 'mag needs a longer effective length barrel. The theory is that it needs more than the 10 inches a level 7 needs.

well duh on me
stock cocker barrels go for really cheap and theyr single bore, just another option
i believe the effective and msot efficent barrel for the mag is around 11" NON-PORTED ALTHOUGH I COULD BE WRONG
