I can't find any sort of electronic trigger frame for it, not even on ebay. So, I was flipping through an issue of PB2X and saw the Ion. A little later, I got an idea in my headand researched the Ion a little. The Ion also has a blowforward design.

So, now my question, is there any way I can modify my Automag to fit and use the electronics? Anyone have a plan of this type of mod written out so that I may use it as reference? I have a Benchmark triggerframe right now, but I want to install this mod onto a Logic vertical frame. Any idea's? Tips? Refferences? Anything? Please help me out, I think it'd be really cool accomplish this project and have a one of a kind E-Mag clone.

I have both the emag upgraded ULE bodies mag and an ION... I have had a blast making stuff with the ion. It was cheaper than my first hyperframe and it is a complete gun...

Turn the reg into a balanced poppet, trip with solenoid to dump air into mag, blowing forawrd and releasing air in one step. Spring returned.

You can use the Level 10 instead of lvl 7 with eyes. The level 10 bolt uses more air, but, oh well. You'll like the devil mag a lot. I've seen videos of that thing, just, wow. I think there is an extensive waiting list for the devil mags though.

Maybe you should look into purchasing an RT valve(X-Valve) and getting Emag lowers. Won't be quite as fast as the Devil mag but it's still really cool. Hybrid mode is awesome.

Paintchucker, that white Ion body is sweet. That's one of those custom things you've been building right? I'd prefer that over the DW bodies. That seriously looks good. But ditch the foregrip mold.

EDIT: Might I suggest getting one of the soon to be released PTP Pneumag frames? It's an air assisted trigger frame. No batteries and it'll have a trigger pull almost identical to an E gun.

No, they arent coming out until next January. If you really want to, you can wait...but I don't have the patience so i just bought a hyperframe.

I would say that if you are going to get the Devilmag, you should upgrade to an X-valve.

The ion is relativly new, and is selling like hotcakes. Its community is growning.

There are already mods surfacing, such as QEV's and such.

Deadly Wind is making Ion bodies now. You can probably expect a Karta type body for the ion in the future.

the devil mag recomends using lvl 7 with eyes over lvl 10 because with the vastly increased rate of fire GADEVIL found he was wearing through lvl 10 orings faster than a fat kid through cake! both the devil mag conversion and ions are great options but the ions are loud, and can be really fast with cp roller trigger!

I've seen the hAIR Trigger (and I had completely forgot about it). Is that anything like the PTP Trig? How do they work exactly, I know throughair pressure, but I don't want an air line going into my trigger frame. How's it work? What's the approx cost (of PTP and hAIR)?

Lohman (and Boydster), I plan on getting a ReTro X valve before any other upgrades (I'm using the classinc right now), then a Karta (oh so sexy!), then somekind of rail drop forward, THEN finally the trigger, I'm just looking into options right now. I probably won't be able to purchase the trigger until next summer. And either way, it sounds like I'll be buying a ULT sometime too, for elec. or mech, it sounds great!

Paintchucker, it looks like the bodies missing something... not sure what, but something... it looks great nonetheless.

SpecialBlend, I'm stubborn and want to upgrade my 'Mag... I admit it... that's the real reason (and SP has been pissing me off lately). I do like the DW Foehn bodies, they look pretty cool. Eh, maybe oneday I will buy an Ion, but right now, I'm "suping" my Spyder and my 'Mag; next in line is a cocker (or maybe the Ion, who knows!). Speaking of, what feed port thread does the Ion take? What barrel threads?

Anyone, I heard Tom Kaye retired. Who's in charge now and will Kaye still be making 'Mag stuff? This is sad... Kaye has been one of my pb role-models since my early days of play...

OOOH! I almost forgot, one last tech question. Should I buy a reg? If so, what are some good makes? I have N2 with a fixed output of 800psi, but Iknow the 'Mag has an internal reg of some sort.

                    lol

Not to change the subject..but..why a Katara?...why not a Dallara?

Also you should just get another gun and keep your automag classic. It will be great back up. If you got the ION (I palyed with a friends ION and it's pretty good), and something goes wrong with the electronics, dead battery, or whatever.....you can always go back to your trusty reliable mechanical mag. Only if there was that darn hAiR trigger

I dont think Dallara's are made anymore. Shame if thats correct, they look better then the karta imo.

I loved the Chord v2 as well

and i agree about keeping the classic. rock solid backup marker/loaner. I still have my minimag for that reason.

I like the look of the Karta a bit more than the Dallara. I like the whole "liquid fire" kind of look, whereas the Dallara is more a "rail-modular," though it does look good also, I like the smoothness of the Karta.

Also, I plan on keeping a classic 'Mag with a basic ULE with a Retro X, Lvl 10, and a Logic vertical trigger with ULT.

Another vote for Karta > Dallara. I miss my Karta Emag...

The hAir trigger project was closed down by PTP. They infringed on a patent. And from what we heard, it'll be around 200 bucks.

Don't get the karta. It's meant for emag rails. Look in that picture above... the rail is longer than normal and the body is longer than normal to match it. If you had standard mech rail, you'd risk breaking off the part that is extended. Just get a dallara which was made for a mechanical rail.

No. No regulator will be able to keep up and it'll starve the valve. The one built in is extremely good.
