upgrading my spyder

ok i just bought my spyder piliot acs blue black fade. It's nice stock but i want it to be better (im going sorta to make it look better) and im going for performance upgrades also but i was wondering if u guys/girls would know any good upgrades for it.

hmm, upgrades....different gun? honestly, by the time you waste all sorts of cash on the spyder, you could buy something else, like a mag, or an ion.

spring kit, delrin bolt, electro frame with tboard, new barrel.

Honestly, from my experience, the only upgrade in a spyder that makes a difference is a reg. That or a nitro tank. IMO, you shouldn't waste money on upgrades for a spyder. Save for a different marker if you want better performance.

A new barrel or barrel kit would help with accuracy. Other then that, pick a color scheme or idea and go with it, be creative. Here's a good Spyder forum where you could get a few ideas: www.spyderea.net

save for an ion, HELL NO!...the ion is "SO GOOD" because it shoots fast. Thats why people bought them, eyes and shoots fast. A spyder can shoot just as fast if not faster than an ion for less than $60 into the gun(t-boarrd). You obviously(sp) dont know much about spyders. Electro frame already comes on a pilot. I am thinkin about selling my mag for a spyder. Spyders are way overlooked, in todays world of paintball speed matters! A spyder can be made to compete with any marker in that aspect.

to those who say buy an ion well my mom wouldnt apreciate that because i just bought this gun and she almost didnt even let me buy this and anyways i could buy a t-bored and it would be just as fast but thanks for the idea anyways

Just play with it, just get a nice nitro tank so you can use that on your next marker. Maybe search some b/s/t forums for a nice barrel. I promise you'll end up regretting dumping money into the spyder, just play and save up money for a new marker.

tboard, ramping chip, 25g tswitch, breakbeam eyes. don't tell me you're pilot capped at 13bps is faster than that setup. and the acs bolt won't prevent most chops. the eyes will be way better. other things you could get are an aftermarket bolt (spudnuckle is good), low pressure valve and striker, hpa tank, 2ndry reg (cp is good), barrel kit, trigger (acs are awesome), etc. just upgrade whatever you think the gun is lacking. if you loike how it shoots now, then keep it stock.

well, err, hmm...how do i say this...maybe he should say what he wants out of his spyder. Like specifics, not just look better, performance. I really dont do spyders that much b/c, well hey, they are no where near as nice as mags. Its a spyder, its a blowback, and its got some issues. All blowbacks do. Plus, if you wanted a spyder to compete with other guns(ie: Trixes, Angels, Shockers, ion, imps, bushys, etc), you'd have to do a Yellow Hornet conversion. And last time i checked, they did around 800 worth of parts and accesories on that. He didnt say he wanted "A spyder that can shoot just as fast if not faster than an ion", just a better looking gun.

the reg, yeah, good point, try Low pressurizing the gun, new valve, reg(stabilizer if using co2, one of the best all around)

....im going to go ahead and assume that you havent used an ion. For the price, there much better than anything, hell, i would say that there close to their big brother shockers in performance. The local field uses them for rentals, and, they dont seem to have any problems breaking down. There cheap enough that almost anyone can own one, but, good enough to be used in any level of play. Several teammates have them for backups. There just good little markers, if the devil (smart parts) makes them or not

You see too many people who go out and buy a gun one week and then the next week swap out every part in the gun for better performance. Most of those people dont even understand why that new bolt is better, they just know its better cause some pretty girl in a magazine said so, or some fan boy said its better.

I've still got a shutter in my bag every time I go to the field, cause I know it will work on any gas I use, and because it is a fast gun, certianly not 26 bps but fast enough.

Trying to keep up with the "Speedball crowd" is any easy way to stop having fun in Paintball.

Honestly if you want to stick with the spyder get the t-board, a new barrel, and a lighter microswitch for the e-frame. Those are the major performance parts right there.

I'd put a Palmers or sidwinder reg on there to start. Having a nice consistant blast of air should make your Spyder much more enjoyable.

The next thing I'd get in a Halo or Reloader B. With the force-fed paint from one of these you should have very little chopping problems as blowback gas up the feedneck (a common problem with blowback guns) will be completely overcome.


Spyders can be quick little guns and if you get upgrades like the ones above you can always use them on another gun if you get one in the future.

I just started building a spyder from scratch for fun, I was wondering if the check it "Spyder Assault Block" is worth buying, also if there was any other 15* blocks out there.

For those that say sell it and get an ion becuse its faster. 1. The metal spyders will outlast the plastic ions. 2. The guns will only shoot as fast as your fingers are so speed isnt all that important anyway. I would take acuracy and durablity over hype anyday.
