OK, so I know the Halo has eyes and the Reloader is sound activated. The reloader B seems to be stock with RIP and the Halo it is optional. Are there any other differences?

I found this: (http://www.bradyspaintball.com/emrebupkitha.html)
Empire Reloader B Upgrade Kit Halo Conversion
The Reloader B is here, and you can upgrade your Halo B with the Reloader B's 3-Speed programmable Sound-Activated control board. It comes with the 4-AA Battery Pack, or can be used with the stock 6-AA pack. There is a foam spacer for the 4 pack to prevent shaking during rough play. Includes Empire back plate and shell badges.
Is this the whole difference?Comment

Sound activated is just all around better.
eyes can get dirty and can sometimes have trouble seeing dark paint.
Sound dose not have these problems and will work all the time.
I have spoken to well over a dozen people at my local fields that shoot reloaders and none of them have problems with the sound boards not responding where eyes although uncommon do have problems being dirty etc from time to time.Comment

Just turn down the speed. You're not really shooting at 23bps anyway.

I've heard that reloaders are harsh on paint with the stock drive cone. I have an aluminum drive cone in my Halo, I dropped a Reloader board into it and I haven't had any problems.
In my opinion the Reloader is definitely superior. I had trouble with the eyes from time to time, but if you can follow directions (don't put paint in it first, turn it on in a quiet place) the Reloader just plain works, and works well. Plus it's a bit faster :)Comment

AGD Mech Pride: As far as hoppers go, eyes < sound < intellifeed. :-D
FSU_Paintball: Stock drive cone's tougher on paint than your aluminum one? Yeesh.Comment

Well, the aluminum cone paddles are curved, whereas the plastic ones are thin and "sharper".Comment

yeah but intellifeed's ruing the lines of a marker
like they said Reloader's pwn stock halo's, now a cheetah boarded rip drivec halo would comptete but y waste the money?Comment

How can the eye on a HALO get dirty? There's a sheet of plastic between it and the paint, unless you mean from hits on the outside of the loader, but still, there'd have to be a lot of careful manipulation of the loader to get paint in there from a hit.Originally posted by AGD Mech PrideSound activated is just all around better.

hmm. basic logic here...
for the eye to see through the plastic, it needs to be clear, no?
well, if that clear plastic gets dirty...
uh o!
and i dont believe its remotely possible to get shot IN there, but using any dirty paint, or any kind of ball break or leak, will terrorize the halo, as they all go down that one shoot. the halo is also rough on the balls, compared to any other hopper.
so in technicality, the acutal "eye" gets dirty rarely, but the CLEAR plastic over it, gets dirty often, which wont do you any good either (the plastic makes the paint smudge when you try to clean it without taking it apart.)
this is a big pain, its happend to me and many other people more times then anyone can count. personally, i ordered the reloader B kit, and will be testing it to see if it works

Neither of my Halos have this plastic cover. Before I put the Realoader kit in I would have to disasemble it, pull out the eyes, clean them, make sure the the eye holes were clean as well, and reassemble. PITA!
Now if I get paint in the neck I just push some paper towels through."Relax. Don't worry. Have a Home Brew."

Tramp, you do know that the HALO uses a reflective eye, right? E.G. Single eye element and single hole.
Glickman, the general statement of "eye fouling" to me implies that the actual eye elements are getting dirty. I personally haven't seen a HALO go down because the eye was dirty, I have seen them go down because they've blended paint (i.e. they're pushing through nothing but broken balls), jammed, batteries died, etc.
Personally I have concerns about the Reloader board, far more so than the Z-Code board. Mostly, becuase it is a force feed hopper which is designed to actuate when it detects noise (not when paint is shot, but noise period). So everytime you add paint, every time you close the lid, tap the loader against something, open the lid, induce a noise which is above the threshold for actuation the loader will try to crank out more paint when the gun isn't necesarrily shooting anything. HALO's have a reputation for being rough on paint, isn't this just going to make things worse? At least with an eye the loader can see when the paint is moving, if there's any paint at all, and when the paint has stopped. Though personally, I think they could have gone the route of Ricochette and put a bendy switch in the feed neck and eliminated everything else, but that's just me.
