i dont think its legit. i think the store would be smart enough to sell an electromag for more than a mechmag.upgrade fund: $145

Ok, jeez, I post the pic and still people don't want to believe it. Alright, first off, I don't have photoshop, nor know how to use that. PMI (as in Pursuit Marketing Inc) As in, makes pirahna's and NOT known for mags, is apparantly merging with National, another SUPPLIER.
Tuna, I will gladly mail you the page in question. Yes, that is from my shop, I cut and scanned that myself. That store in question was my work, Killer Paintball. This was sent out in a 12 page, roughly posterboard sized magazine displaying all their stuff they are clearing out. Call PMI about the add if you don't believe the pics, ask a rep, they should tell you. Like I said, if you really don't belive my scan, I will send you the page in question through USPS.

i've kinda been out of the scene lately but... when did pmi start carrying mags and impulses? And if pmi was merging with nps... when on earth did nps carry mags and impulses?

This why they cleared them out, nobody expected PMi (a pirahna company of all places) to carry mag or impulse stuff. If it sits long enough, its better to get a little money back than to sit on merchandise. I'm not sure if NPS has mags or impy's, the merger hasn't been announced "officially" as of yet. Though, I may call and see if they have any in stock, can't hurt to ask.

why did they carry mags you people are asking? because they are suppliers. NPS=888paintball and they sold mags. Diablo sold mags, PMI sold mags, who supplies the stores? either factory direct or throught a supplier, usually through a supplier, thats why they carry mags, or used to

So if they are selling them for 100 a pop the real question is what did they buy them for?
Did AGD sell them for 50 a piece? I knew AGD made dam good money on mags but I had no idea the mark up was that large.

They probably paid more.Originally posted by GTSo if they are selling them for 100 a pop the real question is what did they buy them for?
It's like when you buy a bad stock. Better to sell at a loss and invest the money elsewhere than risk losing it all.

Slarty has it right, if they are dumping stock of E-mags it may be to free up funding to reinvest in something that actually sells more inline with there expectations... that was probably more blunt than it needed to be"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Seems like they could have simple stuck them on eBay or something. They'd have at least gotten $200 for them which would have doubled their money with little extra effort/cost."Relax. Don't worry. Have a Home Brew."

But would have cost them that much more to sell them. They took a hit on them I am sure, but they went about selling them the cheapest and easiest way they could...they gave their dealers a great price. No one had to watch an ebay auction, setup shipping to ship a product to someone who was not a dealer, arrange payment , etc.
They might have made an extra $300 per gun going that route, but they probably would have spent that trying to get it out the door.

That's what I'm saying, I just don't think they would have spent $200 per gun to sell them for $300. (input other numbers if you like
) I don't know how many there were but even I could move E-Mags at $200 a pop over a few days.

Yes, but how much are you paynig employees per hour to do the work? NOTHING.Originally posted by TheTrampThat's what I'm saying, I just don't think they would have spent $200 per gun to sell them for $300. (input other numbers if you like

With overhead and all, you very quickly would eliminate any extra gain with the added expense.
