Yeah...good point...but i think i could deal w/ carrying around a little 4 oz cylinder...or i might be able to get away with just running it on the low pressure propane gas...which might not work...
But in the long run, it would probably end up with everyone at the field laughing hysterically as my gun burps balls of fire back into my face setting my hair on fire...and then chasing after me with bottles of water in a valiant effort to quench the flames...

Thats what I am now thinking, since they are igniting the Propine and the flame is blowing the Ball out, isn't it going to melt or warp the ball? the heated barrel sure will wont it?

I saw this thread forming and i thought it was all theory till i saw the tippman vid ad work yesterday. it is a 30sec vid sent to dealers and the head of tipmman is pushing this like it sthe new wave. the takes a bbq tanks no kiddding they are 16oz throw aways that are said to get 50,000 shots yes 25 cases.I still think this is nuts and it made me question what i know about propine. I do belaive they are using propine as a propelent and not as a fual in this marker they guy on the vid siad it is more consistant then air but i though propine was a valitol* gas am i wrong? I'm hopping they will be at cup next week and i can see one in person

Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Any one else notice that the "package deals" all include a CO2 tank?

There are no fill stations involved.

The C3 is designed to use disposable propane tanks, and one tank has enough propane for 50,000 shots. When the tank is empty it gets thrown away - it violates DOT certification to refill and transport it in a vehicle.

                    .
Yes, it is, that's the purpose of the ignitor circuit.

The ball won't melt because the gas is ignihted in a separate chamber and the gases produced aren't hot enough...

That is if the exhast gases drive the paintball. I can't quite figure the workings from the exploded parts view.

Gasses drive a piston, the pressure from the piston drives the paintball.

So, just the combustion cylinder gets hot.
