I HATE the "go to the gym" arguement. Can't STAND it... Everyone can handle a heavy gun. It's not like they're all, "OMG TEH HEAVYNESS!" when they're playing... The question is how quickly and effectively you can handle it. I played with 4 different guns last weekend. My Phantom, my Mag, a Trauma Trix I borrowed, and a Shocker I borrowed. The difference between the Trix and the rest of them was MASSIVE. Playing front, the Trix was MUCH more difficult to run with, and was positively unwieldy when trying to bring it up for a quick snap over a bunker. The lighter the gun, the easier it is to whip it around and snap. So stop with the, "Go to the gym, n00bzorz." arguement.

No. Not until all the people who clamour for lighter guns start discussing lighter SETUPS.

And how much ligher was the Trix compared to the others? Did you use it immediately after using the Phantom?

The lighter the gun, the better it handles argument annoys me as much as the gym argument annoys you. I think I can safely say that no one in this thread would be a better player because of the ounce or two that's being considered.

Gotta throw my change into the pile, First off this has turned into one of those impossible to answer questions because it's mroe opinion then facts BUT It's really not the weight that matters unless your 5' nothing and trying to play with a 6 pound tank of a gun. It is the balence of the gun that matters. If all the weight of your gun is in the front or the back then it's gonna be a ***** to get anything accurate going over the bunker. Which is one of the many reasons why Armed forces all over the world are switching to bullpup assult rifles.

I'm missing the good old days. Makes me love the old 68 special, heck the bolt alone weighed a pound. Slap on the old 20oz syphon tank (with as much liquid as you can get) & away I'd go!

Uh, in case you forgot, a lighter gun IS a lighter setup. If you lighten a part of the whole, then you've lightened the whole. Besides, the gun is the easiest part of a setup to lighten - it's not like you can mill your HALO or cut some slots in your tank, so the only thing you can genuinely lighten is the gun. For the other stuff we're at the mercy of the manufacturers.

there is not much you can do to lighten your setup. You can pay an extra $200 for a mac dev tank, get a carbon fiber barrel.........and that is about it. There is no way you can tell someone to get some muscle when they want a shorter or lighter gun. Play the snake with a dm3 and then play with a shocker then tell me it doesnt matter. Just because you can do it doesnt mean its right.
