AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Well, I think it was a Mr. Hudnall that stated "Why can't we buy quality paint for $20?" so I'm asking.
Wow. Do you really expect an answer to that?
If you're willing to purchase paint in multiple pallet quantities, you may well be able to purchase it for that cost.
However, if you expect others to provide you with storage, shipping, assumption of risk for broken paint, somewhere to shoot it, etc. You have to be ready to pay moe.
The discusion in the "AGD Broke?" thread gave me this idea. I just want a concentrated discusion about paint. Why the price is the way it is lalala... I did read further into the posts and found some good answers. The thing is I just was hopping to hear some facts and ideas about how this facet goo shooting can be improved.
Back when I started playing 15 years ago there where basically three choices in paint: RPS, Nelson and Zap. As I remember a case was $100+. It seems to me that the rise in popularity of paintball coupled with the shear volume of paint being used has brought prices down considerably.
The pharmacy would be capable of making paintballs. I want to know more about paint casing and paint formulas.
I want to pee in the pool. The price keeps players out. If a idiot(me) has to be one of many proponents to the development of the products we use, then I'll do it.
I don't know why the price has been what it has(growth, efficient production?). Nor do I know what the actual production cost of a paintball is. Who dose know?
Who wants to pay the person making the largest profit for the same product?
Oh and to answer. I dont think I can use the words to describe someone who will charge three times what the job should be worth. Supply and demand is a mother when there is no set precedence for what things are worth.
Do you have any entrepeneurial experience, or at least worked with small scale manufacturing?
Also, the price point debate is a dead horse... every year, no matter what, people complain about paint prices. They are really quite low if you look around, buy in bulk, make some contacts, etc.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.
