Here's a little Phantom inside buying tip....always get the 15rnd feed and cut it to the desired length, 12-13rnds in most cases.

arent the tubes threaded and tapered though?

You just pull the feedgate off the back, cut the tube to length and put the feed gate back on.

And then, whats common, is that you can then use that extra piece as a ghost ring on top of the feedblock.

do you just tape it on or do you then have to cut it?

You have to cut it a bit. The top of the feedblock has a 3/8 dovetail on top of it. So a little bit of trimming to the extra piece of feedtube, and you have a ghost ring that will just slide right on.
