    Which Tippy is better?

Hi all, ive been palying pntball for about 5 years now. I have an automag classic which until this year use to be untouchable but right now but it is becoming a pain because now where i play they have no nitro filling stations so i have to drive like 45 min or so to get my one tank filled, there are also a few other things "my" mag bother me about it such as horrible consitency(idk why, ive tried everything) and weight also everything automag is too expensive( p.s. im broke),so im considering selling it. However my question is which tippmann would best match up to my automag on all aspects such as accuracy, consistency, and effective range(which my mag has very little of), just to name a few. Im debating between the A-5 stock or a tippmann 98 pro basic w rt trigger. Im leaning more toward the 98 b/c of the great price( remember, im broke), and because rt triggers are sweet. However if anyone has the 98 pro basic w rt and it sux, plz let me know. All the reviews ive read said it was good but u can never be sure cause there was only like 20. So again which tippy is better in your mind's for me to buy, the A-5 stock, or the 98 pro basic w rt trigger?

your responses would be greatly appreciated

im with him, if you can fiind sumone who can put an antisiphon tube in the tank itll only cost like around $40..... tank = $20 + siphon tube = $8 + installation $?

If you can't get nitro filled sell your nitro tank and get co2. If you must get a tippy, get a Pro/Carbine, Just as good as a 98, just as upgradable and way cooler looking.

tippmanns are essentially the same, just shaped differently. except for the feed thing on the a5s.

Keep the automag and get a co2 setup like the ones that have been listed.
All paintball guns (with the exception of the flatline and apex) have the exact same range. A paintball going 290fps is going to travel just as far out of your automag as it will out of a tippmann. Physics.
Oil your mag, replace orings (especially your regulator seat because you're having consistency problems).
One thing to think about is your paint. If your shooting a brand of paint that has inconsistantly sized paintballs (ie one is .689 and the next is .686) you're going to have inconsistant velocity.

Um, you can take the barrel off the Carbine. Only difference is that the carbine has a bottom line and the Pro/lite has the tank screw directly into the grip.

What he said. Buying a Tippmann and selling your 'mag will probably make you more broke, and it still won't be nearly as good as the 'mag.

The rate of fire is slower than your mag. Solid markers. If Cost is an issue I'd look at a 98Custom. You can get them cheaper than a pro basic. The pro carbine is a rock solid performer & will always be my favorite. But me I came back to a mag after palying with tippy's for a year or so. I have a classic set up strickly for CO2 use. Even getting a remote here I hope tonight for it. Have you changed out the reg piston & spring pack in the back end of your mag??

Id keep your mag and pick up a used Tippmann Pro/Carbine or 68 carbine.

I have both a Mag and a Tippmann Pro/Carbine that i bought new way back and still use reguarly. Its by far my favorite all time marker ever made. I have had it for around 4 years and have yet too see it skip a beat. It stock was a better all round marker than the 98c i had at the time witch i actually sold after i got the carbine. It lacks in the firpower department but makes up for it in reliablilty accuracy consistancy and heck it even seems too like CO2. After 4 years of hard play my carbine still shoots looks and works just like new and gets ALOT of weird looks at the feild LOL.

You can pick up a decent used Carbine for less than $40 with a Co2 tank included. Their aint a whole lot that can go wrong with em and their extreamly easy to repair. I have had mine for 4+ years and have put it though hell (live diveing and barrying the barrel in the dirt as i fell on it LOL). But if i show ya pics it looks brand new inside and out, It shoots great and feels awsome.

I'm a big fan of Pro-Lites (older version of the carbine). I used one all last winter and it worked great outdoors on straight CO2 in the frigged New England weather. I picked up a brand new Mini version of it not long ago and I love this one as well.

Slap a sideline Stabilizer on the Mag and you're good to go.

If you really want to get a Tippmann and finding air fills is a big problem, why not get the new C3? If you don't mind playing pump, you can shoot with propane.
                            My feedback

Made in USA - it matters.
