What is the deal with blind guns...

or lack there of eyes? If your gun is tuned right and your loader is faster than your gun can shoot you do not need vision, eyes, jam, evolve, sensi, cops or pds. I just don't see why guns without vision are pretty much seen as crap. I mainly shoot my speed with sensi but I tried something new this weekend at a tourny and decided to turn it off play with the board set at 25bps and I was hitting 24bps at a regular rate and never chopped one ball all day and my friend was using my Angel LCD and never had a break either. I just don't get it. If your stuff works correctly you will not have chopping issues to begin with.

I assume that was with ramping or mad bounce? If not, I want a vid!

I know with the LvL 10 Classic I had, I never carried a squeeqie, and did the same with the ION I just sold. I guess for me, it's peace of mind. I don't like cleaning paint out of my marker during a game, and the anti-chop technology at least makes the chance very slim. At the moment, I just have a pump, so it's all on me now if one breaks. But the next semi I purchase will probably have some sort of anti-chop system. I don't think guns w/o suck (ie, I'd love to have/be able to afford a Blazer), but I prefer to have a gun with it.

Your kidding, right? Having a ball fired for every time you pull the trigger is not a plus?

          /You where shoot 24? Really?

Evolve makes your angel bolt like level 10 or a jam bolt. At least that is what they claim. It just bounces the bolt off paint. I have an A4 board in my speed and my settings were...

            20 on the debounce setting
17 on dwell (I set it so high because it was 30 degrees outside)
semi 2 for the mode (ramping is in semi 4 and has to be selected in semi 4)
            25 on ROF

I wish I had a way to make a video for you guys because I so would do it. I will see what I can do on sunday as far as getting a video.

Just cuz you set it at 25 doesn't mean you hit it. On-board counters are NOTORIOUSLY incorrect.

#1- you were NOT shooting 24 in any mode remotley close to legal
#2- if you did manage to hit 24, your loader (unless its a Q loader) would NOT keep up for long
                #3- eyes>blind, nuff said

Maybe it is incorrect on the board but that is what it read. Oh yeah and the tourny was uncapped semi only.

                    Now you get it.

Not everything always works perfectly on the field. Batteries get low , paint swells, loaders (which have eyes or sensers too BTW) hesitate or studder, etc and so on.

Then you have a missed shot and a break and a mess. The DM5 I use most often has not had a single break/chop since I've owned it. It probably has 100,000+ rounds on it easily and I have others I can say the same about.

Wouldn't trade a good set of eyes for the world.

Eyes too me is just a techno selling point. Didn't need them before shouldn't need them now IMO. With the exception of the new DM6 and its' self wiping eyes. Half the time if dirt or a broken ball from the hopper gets on the eyes they don't work anyway. A fast hopper that loads faster than the marker fires is all you really need. "KISS"(keep it simple stupid) applies.
RTs when they came out in '96 and were paint shreding machines, but the fastest hopper at the time was a 12v revy. Juice the RT up to 1000psi it out shot that revy in no time flat. With their fast rate of fire and hard hitting lvl7 bolt the little revy was not up to speed with the RT. Drop a halo, Reloader B, or maybe a qloader on the same RT today and it works great. Chops are almost a thing of the past anyway atleast in the mag world. Unless your LVL10 isn't set up at its full potential, your out shooting your hopper with your lvl7, or your using some super brittle/old crappy paint chops don't happen. Almost all of the time anymore it is a barrel break or a broken ball due to the force fed hopper. Eyes only deal with chops and nothing else. Eyes only futher refine todays marker to a small degree for a problem that doesn't really exist with todays loaders and bolt systems. Eyes are a good idea, but just not really needed.

I have a A4 as well and this is from what I have read. The fact that you shot 24bps only means that in the amount you just shot you hit somewhere a three shot string where the time in those three shots was enough for you to have shot 24 bps. So you could have shot 3 shots in about or less the .12 of a second.

So all you guys raging on about mad bounce or ramping boards, know you gun before start yelling CHEATER BOARDS. But at a setting 20 trg, bounce is extremely hard to accomplish.

I went from a blind BKO to a LX mag and I love having the anti chop. It is probably the main reason I got rid of it. I don't have much cash so I was stuck with a slow loader. Therefore, when I was hitting faster bps she was just dripping paint out the barrel. Then again, I have seen blind guns with fast hoppers never chopping once. Eyes are very nice though. With LX I have only had barrel breaks and hopper breaks. Not a single chop. That is all I want.

I use a Speed. I don't use the Sensi cause it completly blows. Upgrading it to have eyes would be throwing good money away, a new marker could be had cheaper. I just make sure to keep fresh batteries in my Reloader B and have very few problems. I experiance about the same # of chops as I did with any other marker I have used. Even with eyes, eventually you will chop, and its just a bigger mess to clean up....more stuff to break too.

Certainly not saying I won't own another marker with eyes, but I don't miss them that much.
