Also, what is the ramping rate on the ion, How fast do I have to pull to get 17bps. Cause if I only have to pull like 12-13, I'll be pumped!

Pull 4 in one second and then one every second after that to maintain ramping. And ramping is capped at 14-15 to be PSP legal

I'd go with Lohman. You can get a nice PM5 for under $500 now. Thats probably a better route than sinking hundreds into an Ion.

but i only have 225 and a hyperframe to trde for cash/ion. Plus I hear shockers/matrixes are higher maintenence.

You have to lube the bolt from time to time on either. Black Ions right now are like $199 or a touch less if you want to look around. I don't think they are actually higher maintenance, and maintenance (except for with an aftermarket body) is far easier on either. I just like to point out to people from time to time putting $700 into an Ion does not necessarily make it as nice as some of the better guns you can buy for that.

every week at the field I play at the two techs are always busy fixing both at least 3-5 ions each sat and sunday with board and reg problems and every freestyle that shows up ends up on that table before the day is done

don't think Im raggin on the guns either I think they both shoot great when they shoot

one other thing for the ion, you can buy new b reeches that take cocker threads instead of the Imp threads

One thing you have to look at is there are probably 3-5 times more Ions at the field then shockers.

All guns break down - shockers and ions included. My freestyle is solid. If you know how to lube a gun and balance the regs, you'll be fine.

Can i just put liek 5-6 drops of Autolube in the asa of my ion and expect good things as if i were shooting a mag?

you do not want to put oil in your ION.
