Actually I was listening to the Cronicles of Narnia. I think I would have been laughing too hard to work if I was listening to Monty Python.

very cool project.
the funny thing is that as soon as i saw the term "knitting steel" i knew what you were talking about, i also call it knitting. if you ever feel adventurous (or masochistic) you can try flattening your rings first. i find i like the look of it better, but it takes ages to flatten all of the rings individually. i think you can see an example of it on aragorn in lord of the rings (not sure which one).
once again, very cool.Comment

Nice, Rob!
You know, hanging from the front a mask that stuff would make a great neck-protector.

For a quick fix, you could line the inside with duct tape. I am sure it would need to be replaced by the end of the day, but should allow you to use it.
I love how it looks though, I used to have a friend that did loved to do that, I will have to see if I can get a hold of him again.

Or he could be really medieval and line the inside of it with leather jerkin material. Oh I think I'm onto something.Comment

Thanks for all the wonderful comments and suggestions guys. Maybe next week I'll make another one that is lined, but that means I'm going to have to cut more links. Good thing I'm home alone on my days off as cutting the links is a little noisy with the dremel. Makes a nice light show though. I like the idea of the leather liner, though I don't know how well it would stand up to the paint. Duck tape is a nce idea as well, but getting it to stick to the inside would mean having the sticky part peeking through the links and that would really collect a lot of dirt. I have worked with 16 guage plastic coated wired. It might work well in this application but it has to be cut by hand as the heat from the cutting disks on the dremel tend to melt the plastic and ruin the look. Might be something to think about for a future version.Comment

The bag was a much bigger project. It took a few days to complete that. I people are interested I can post pictures of some of the things I have made.Originally posted by Strider
Your going to have quite the collection of knitted items if you keep this up bud.
Your dice bag is still the best tho.
That's possible. The guy I purchased it from used to play at PSP. You never know if who'll you'll meet where.I'm gonna have to come visit and check out your new Mag... It looks familiar for some reason, I wonder if I've met it already...Comment
