youre shooting a viking and asking what lube to use?Originally posted by jenarelJAMViking
just use AKA lube. why did you even use gold cup in the first place, just because its what came with your mag? as people have said synthetic oil will require less maintenance and are overall better, and there doesnt seem to be a better option than the AKA recommended lube.

Bought the gun used, so I didn't get the aka lube that comes with it when new.
Edit: just bought 1.25 oz. of aka lube for $6(and $5 shipping... gr...) and since I was paying for shipping as well, I bought new detents, springs, and screws as well. Thanks guys, when the lube comes, I'll tear down my sidewinder and clean it, then run some of the new stuff through the line.
I'll give away my old yellow stuff, maybe give it to my friend who has a spyder...Last edited by jenarelJAM; 05-23-2006, 08:57 PM.you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

I would DEFINETLY reccomend Moose Juice, it works AWESOME on all paintball markers. It's insanely cheap also, unlike many other lubes / greases out there, Moose Juice doesnt get runny or shot off during the summer, is perfect in any weather, and come off your o-rings unless you intentionally wipe it off. check it out and try some out at http://www.MooseJuice.net . ggood luck

I tried Moose juice just yesterday. I lubed up my gun with Moose juice while enjoying an ice cold Budweiser, that clean, crisp taste that truly makes Budweiser "The King of Beers". www.budweiser.com.
I donned my Old Navy cargo shorts, cool and comfortable, priced right at an Old Navy store near you. (www.Oldnavy.com) and went outside.
I grabbed a bag of Chronic paintballs, always perfectly round and very consistent, the best paint out there at any price, ( www.zappaintball.com) into my Viewloader Vlocity, which is crazy fast, the lightest, fastest loader on the market bar none! (www.viewloader.com). The Moose Juice kept my gun running smooth and lubricated--just like a lube should."They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." --Benjamin Franklin

That's funny cause I seem to recall going with John and Kelly of HPB to pick up the huge vats from the chemical company who manufacturers it here in Indy. I also seem to recall them paying me to help mix in the red coloring because HS is naturally a tanish color...Originally posted by sladehave you wondered what this over-hyped "hatersauce" is? its dow with oil in it.
You have no idea what you're talking about...

Way to register to AO just to post that. Slade must've hit a nerve with that comment.
But I guess slade is technically wrong here. Apparently, as stated by the one post expert, Hatersauce has red dye in it as well as the oil.

so, let me get this straight.Originally posted by wdpeclipseThat's funny cause I seem to recall going with John and Kelly of HPB to pick up the huge vats from the chemical company who manufacturers it here in Indy. I also seem to recall them paying me to help mix in the red coloring because HS is naturally a tanish color...
You have no idea what you're talking about...
1) paintballers have been adding oil to dow for a long while to achieve a lubricant that is slightly less viscous, but does not run as oil does
2) you buy lubricant from a chemical company, and mix in coloring to make it look exactly like dow 33
3) you package it with a hype-laden name, cite the qualities that people mixed dow and oil to attain (a less viscous lubricant that still doesnt run) and expect people to believe that its not just a mixture of oil and dow?
also, given what youve said, im assuming you used a synthetic grease thickened with a lithium complex, most likely Chevron's Ulti-Plex Synthetic Grease... am i right?
that would also mean that hatersauce was, infact, not created specifically for paintball as the website advertised. rather, you add coloring and market it for paintball. not that im attempting to insult the company, its a good idea and im sure its a good lube, but...

it wouldnt be the first time someone joined AO just to argue with something i said... although that other time was a lot worse, i dont actually feel bad about this.
oh, and even if i wasnt correct that the grease was made by chevron, i call BS on HPB's statement that it was specifically formulated for paintball. he already stated that they bought the grease from a chemical company and mixed in dye. mixing dye in doesnt constitute it being "specifically formulated", and it would cost quite a bit to get a company to specifically make a lubricant for paintball. at the most, they walked into the company and asked which grease would be the best for paintball. the only thing specifically formulated was the container lable. speaking of which, the fact that its most likely lithium thickened would explain the "do not ingest" lable.
