AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
umm cuz its purple and has hello kitty grips..the grips i can swap..but im not into a purple gun..id say if anyne got it they would keep it as is..but any lower and someone just might treat it as another x mag..switch grips and re anno the marker..

hey, well, if anyone wants to sell the grips ill buy them.
and it would be a shame if someone reano'd clares xmag
xvalve, ule body, logic vert frame, WWA barrel
68/30 PE nitro tank
cp unimount
halo B
if i bought it, id leave it as is..anno wise..and if i did buy it..you could be sure those grips would go to clare..hence it would still be purple ..and a girls gun..but its still a beautiful xmag..hmmits starting to look nicer and nicer.....lol
If I were in your shoes, I would consider that some people may look at this thread and think that I was just trying test the waters to see if the marker was reported stolen. Or, to see if anyone is around that has had theirs stolen before using it at a big event. It really is an unlikely story, one that could easily be construed to make you look guilty regardless the out come.
So, I think I would stay as far away from it as possible in order to protect my integrity. I would probably donate it to the Shatnerball event or return it to AGD.
You seem to be a guy with a lot of integrity, I would hate to see you drug through the mud over a misplace marker. Personally I would not like to be put in such an unfortunate situation.....
Let 'em try. I'll put an end to whatever some unscrupulous person may attempt.
And frankly, just because he doesn't remember it doesn't mean it isn't his. You have to know Zak to understand his, uh, manic energy.
I would very much like to talk to you about such interesting ideas. I've been thinking that 34bps is not very impressive for 2006 and it might be best to push into the mid 40's.
Okay, here you go...
I believe you can use a smaller solenoid in the eMag. First, Tom put a larger solenoid than is required. He oversized it so that it would work under far less than optimal conditions. It was also designed for a level 7 bolt. That bolt required much more force (drag of the sear on the bolt) to overcome. Even with a level 10 bolt you still need a fairly large solenoid to overcome the on/off pin pressure. The next step would be to reduce that force by installing a ULT with requires far less force to overcome. However, the ULT with its lowered force does not have enough force to lift the "heavy" plunger in the stock eMag solenoid fast enough. Since the ULT requires less force to move and a smaller solenoid would have a lighter plunger it should work. A ULT requires about 15ozs of force to move. There is a mechanical advantage (lever) in the sear at the solenoid attachment point. Therefore we should need less than 15oz to fire the eMag.
With that information we have the stock eMag solenoid:
Tubular Pull Type Solenoid, 1.00 in (25.4mm) LENGTH x 0.50 in (12.7mm) DIAMETER, MSS S-10-50
should have enough force to fire the marker and has a plunger weight of 0.15 oz which should return fine (and possibly/probably even faster).
In addition to getting the new solenoid you will either need a new mount or a thread adapter. I bet luke here on the forums can make you a new adapter. Then you will need to re-tap the threads in the plunger or have an adapter made (assuming the threads are different). I would go with the shortest duty cycle for the solenoid. Paintball markers don't keep the solenoid on very long.
Also, adding a 10k capacitor would probably allow the use of a 9 volt battery.
Now the real way to make it cycle WAY faster is to use a solenoid for the return also. I contacted Solenoid City to get a custom "dual" solenoid that pulled and pushed, but they only do custom solenoids for large orders. A spring might help depending on the mechnical advantage of the sear's solenoid lever.
P.S. Zak, you can call me (if you still have my cell number) if you have questions. I lost my cell phone am should have a replacement in about a week.
