In woodsbal (my favorite) you need a reliable marker that can take somewhat of a beating, and play in rough terrain. Lucky for you you used an emag for the first time (like using nitrous in a dragster). That probably upped your playing expierience. So if you got thge cash, buy an emag. You will have the best gun on the market, next to xmag (discontinued). good luck.

Yeah, just ignore most of what Don Miguel just said...

First off, like was said before, don't worry about buying anything yet, try different markers. We [guys] will definately let you try them out, probably won't care if you waste their paint and air either...
I'm not sure what the Ion+halo post was about. If you've already bought an Ion, that's alright, it's a pretty decent marker. You'll have fun with that.

For pointers and suggestions... uh... just go out and play. Try to think about what kind of a target you're presenting to your opponent(s). Like how much of your body is showing from behind the bunker. Try to lean out the sides of the bunker *just* enough to see, and enough for your barrel to stick out. Any more and you're just giving the other team a bigger target.
Don't worry about trigger speed, if you get into paintball, and buy an electro, you can work on that later.
You might be hesitant to move up at first. I know I was... Just remember that #1 they probably aren't looking at you. Not everyone is out to get you, regardless of how it may seem. #2 You can probably make it to your next bunker before they even notice you've moved. #3 If they notice you, they've still got to move, aim, shoot, and wait for the ball to get all the way across the field to you. Once they start shooting, you've still got time to get to your bunker, don't freeze up.
Lets see... what else...
Basicly, the strategy is simple. Go out there, hide behind bunkers(or rocks and trees), and shoot at anything that moves. Hide when paintballs fly at you, and jump back out when they stop shooting at you. There is always going to be shooting. The thing you've got to figure out is when someone is shooting at you, and when someone is shooting somewhere else. If you're like most first-timers, your first thought it going to be how not to get hit. Try to get past that, to move up, to make the agressive moves, to try to get as close to the other team as you can, so that you have the most fun. It's not fun to sit in the back of the field and wait for the other team to beat you. It's much better to be shot out in the first 3 minutes because you made a stupid move to a bunker.
