i got rid of my pump mag right as they started to get more popular. i liked playing with it but it wasnt my style. the pump stroke was short and snappy which i didnt like.

      shot my PumpMag today!

I shot my PumpMag today at SCVillage. The refs tripped out and had to take a closer look. Once again the positive comments kept coming in, more than the flying paint. One of the refs begged to hold it and check it out. Another cool thing to see were several other players with an X-mag, E-mag, Micromag, and Minimag.

The Return of the Automag continues........................

ebay. I just saw 4 peices of 2.25 diamater delron for sale. That is the same circumfrence as the stock pump. I looked at thinking about buying some to make my own. The guy that was selling it would even turn it for me. If you PM your email address I can send you a pick of mine. I love my minimag pump. I have a few snipers and a phantom all tricked out. My favorite is my mag. The stroke is awesome as well as the accuracy. I'm trying to build up another Mag pump with a ULE body. Pump is way more fun than 20bps style paintball. Anyone can stand around and throw paint hoping to hit somone. To me that is not how paintball should be played. Once a month I play pump only game with some very reputable people from all walks of life as well as some great creators of some great markers here in Northern California. These are the people who still know what paintball is how it is played honestly and lastly know one shot one kill. I'm glad to see pump coming back. I think playing pump is intimidating to many with all of those elctronic markers out there. I look at as a challenge and way to let others know pump players rule!

              Question about pump mags

How many shots from a 12 gram? I've never played stock class/pump before, but it would seem like that would be improtant. I wouldn't want to change 12 grams every 15 shots.

I play with a 3.5 tank which is light weight. I get about 200 shots before I refill. I use a 50 round hopper and carry two 50 round pods with me. That is plenty for two back to back games at APG here in Sacramento. When I tried a 12 gram I got about 15 shots. Not to good. I was running a level 7 with macro line from a verticle asa.
My phantom gets 30 shots per 12 gram.

                  15's about right.

There are some things you can do to help that if you know your valve systems intimately. :)

                    nice pump ther RR.

i had what i at least liked to think was the blingiest pumpmag before i sold it. it was very nice and compact, but mostly, it was rare wich is how i like my guns.

nontheless, the mag as a pump concept just isn't a good idea as the gun works. and by the time you gather up all the stuff you need you'll have spent enough to buy yourself a brand new ss25 all decked out wich will BLOW a pumpmag out the water in a pumpgame.

but if you like the collection aspect, and uniqueness of it like i did the by all means is the gun for you. just don't expect it to outperform any real pumpgun in the field in almost any way.

Besides efficiency , define "Blow out of the water?"

FYI , one of those P Mags sold for twice that of a SS25 and you wouldn't believe what I've been offerd for the other. . . which I'm keeping for myself , BTW. I have no problem with that kinda of investment.

RR I think your pump mag is sweet! How did you get the X valve set up to run CO2? I'm just getting my second pump mag set up. This time a ULE body with DW rail. My problem is getting the right spacer with my lvl 7 valve. I went to 0.215 and that seems to work. My mini mag pump lvl 7 uses a 0.220 spacer. My buddy is building with a lvl 10 valve but can't get the barrel leak fixed. Any suggestions? I really enjoy the looks of your pump mag and I hope to be able to share mine once it is dialed in and painted.

By the way what year is your RR? I have a 954, 2002.

PT spacers , it's all in the spacers huh ?

X valves do fine on CO2 given the ROF of a pump.

L10s are real finicky on a P mag. I'm running L7 (my version of anyway) on mine. You can get an L10 to work but it's kinda borderline on reliability. No shims usually , sometimes you need to take down a carrier a few thou too.

                          I have a showroom mint , mildly custom '98 w/ 5k on it and an '05 1K.

You can't compare apples to oranges. The autotrigger on a Chipley makes it shoot like a semi. It makes you pump at a a very high rate of fire. I know, I've put my PumpMag against them. The PumpMag is actually preventing high rates of fire. It does the opposite.

If you really want to see a fair comparison, establish the rules.

Is this going to be 1 vs 1, 3 man, or 5 man?
Is there a paint limit? limited or unlimited?
                            Field paint only?
Loader restrictions? Stock feed, 40 round hoppers, no agitators?
                            10 round tube reload only?
12 gram, CO2, or HPA allowed?

All these factors need to be accounted for in any pump competition challenge.

Pump marker comparisons themselves don't really work. The two are very different.

But pump player vs pump player....that's real paintball!

                            That's why I play pump.

so you think any remote change the pump kit will return? i guessing not. couldnt someone make up a custom pump kit? if u look at the pump kit doesnt look to hard to cut of a cnc or even a lathe. and for the rail, ive seen the cad drawing for it with the demensions on it. so y not i ask?

whoops should of read the whole thing before posting.

                                Pump Kits anyone?

If Airgun Designs ever decides to re-release AGD pump kits or someone else makes a New pump kit, I'm sure alot of people will start dusting off their mags and convert them.

                                I know I will.
