medium to low cost (everyone look here)

what exactly makes a high grade gun.? like what differs a 06 ego from a vicking to a PMR to a mini to an ephiany to a DM7 to an Xmag and so on.
dont talk about accuracy because there are too many variables.
but really aside from and automag valve (fastest recharging on the planet) there is really no difference. eyes dont really get better if the beam breaks the beam breaks no question about it. most of the mid cost guns weigh less the the more expencive ones many have the same boards or very similar. so what differs the guns that cost 1000+ compared to the ones around $300-$500 ? am i the only one who fails to see the reasoning on spending a grand on a gun that isnt much different from one thats about half the cost?

please dont say just get a mag or anything like that or just get this or that gun it can get really annoying

don and triangle please dont post unless it is valad and NO ARGUEING you two

just to say you have an expensive raygun instead of a mid priced one.

milling is really the only difference. it quite funny to watch someone blow 1200 on a gun and you spend 350 and it weighs less and shoots just as fast and is more durable.

i think they are compensating for something

Markers are only worth what someone will pay for them.

Well, we've reached that point again...

Back when pumps were dominant, just about everything was either a Nelson base or a Sheridan base. The pump technology started to age and soon anyone willing to spend between $150 and $250 could buy a gun with all the works (return spring, auto-trigger, quick strip, smooth pump, etc.).

Then the semi's came. They were pricey for a while, then lower prices semi's began to debut. Guns like the VM-68, Mirage, Spyder, etc. made owning a semi easy for anyone. Sure, you could buy a $600-$800 Autococker or $500-$600 Automag, but then you could also get a good quality blowback between $150-$300.

Then the Shocker came out, shortly followed by the Angel V6, and the electro age took over. Now we're just seeing the exact same thing happening for a third time. Guns like the Ion, Wrath, e-Trilogy, e-Spyder, Promaster, etc. make it easy for anyone to own an eletro capable of firing faster than anyone can pull and just as accurate as the higher end.

Basically, something new is going to come out and redefine the word "high end." Then that tech will become dated and cheaper, and something newer will come out, so on and so forth. So, I guess we just wait.

If you were to break it down and get used bits you could spend 250 and make a marker that shoots just as well as an 07.

              Used Espyder - 75$
              T.board+eyes -50$
              Delrin bolt - 15?
              Light striker - DIY
              Low pressure modification- DIY
              New trigger (?)
              New switch (30 cents)
              Decent regulator 25$
              Feedneck - 15$
              Spring kit - 10$
              JJ barrel - 30$

There. You have a marker capable of cycling at 20bps, that is cheap, reliable (It's a spyder..c'mon) and does not have 1000 o rings to change. With the pressure/spring/hammer changes it will not have the typical kick. Body gets damaged? 25$ and you can probably find a new one. Want to experiment with the milling? thats fine. Want to lend it to your buddy in place of one of your more expensive markers? There ya go. Want to light up the people that doubt you? You're all set.

The way it's going right now I could pick up a pm5 for 300$ if I felt so trusting on the Nation, so it's all somewhat subjective ^^.

There have alwayws been 1000 dollar guns. In the pump days you had the beautiful handmade pps pumps, as far as mech semi's go there was the special edition cockers and mags. The first mag I ever used was a smart parts eclipse Minimag with powerfeed and ex chamber. The told me it was about $1200 to put the whole package together.
Then the shockers came out and were about $1000 as were the 1st Angels and emags.

So there have always been $1000 markers when they are "High End" and inovative... then the next year comes a new set of $1000 guns. What really confuses me is the cost of the PL guns. Like an SL66 ego being $1800 I'm pretty sure you could have logic one-off an sl66 for half that price.

Markers like the mini really please me. You have a gun that is very different, high end, and being sold at a very resonable price.

not really. But a lot of it is a brand to brand basis, and the player is what really makes the gun.. not the other way around. I love owning the ion kids with my semi mag. heh. good times...they waste so much freakin paint.
