    Predicament..Kinda.

Ok so i traded a couple guns last week and they guy got them yesterday, anyway..both parties recieved their rightfull belongings..now one of the guns i traded was a shocker. I knew that it needed a new upper board and he was informed of that as well..so i paid for the board as part of the trade and he was fine with the fact that it was broke, seeing that he is getting the part to fix it.

ok now neither of the guns are mine..they are a teamates that is not to computer savvy so I conduct his trades for him.

The Dm4 i traded along with the shocker, i had worked on many times and day before we shipped it was shooting so good well he got it and supposedly the eyes weren't working, well he got that fixed for free and already sold it to a friend. Now the shocker, the only thing i have done with the shocker is glanced at the noid to see what piece was missing off the board, My teamate was told by the guy he bought the gun from that the only thing needed to fix it was the upper board..so we both accepted that and were going to fix it for a back up,but then traded it.

Now then the other party in the trade now has a $70 bill due to his guntech..which to plug in a frigin board and change a set of eyes is a bit riddiculous..i could do both in 15 minutes or less..anyway he says the noid screws dont fit and he had to buy new ones..anyway..

So he calls me tonight and tells me the situation..I told him i will have to talk to the owner of the guns to see what we can work out.. now i don't want to stick the guy with a bill, but i honsetly didn't know that any of the above would occur, other then the need for a upper board, so do you AO think i should pay the bill? I mean i will atleast compensate him somewhat, but im not too sure about paying the whole thing seeing that i told him what was wrong with the gun to my knowledge..the things he later found are on him.

Some things seem a little off..i trust the guy but, right after he told me he was a smartparts tech he asked me if the shocker had vision..when i shipped the gun the grip frame was not attached and you could clearly see the ribbon for the eye protruding from the body...i would think a SP "tech" would know what it was for.

Also..the $70 bill thus far..like i said above..is it just me or is that riddiculous? Just to change some eyes and hook up the noid board which both consist of taking a few screws out and pluging some wires in....

    In Brief:

Who should pay the bill for the tech?

Ye deffinetley will want to see proof, see my thing is yes it may be broke..but i made him aware of the only probelm i knew it had...the problem i informed him of prevented me from knowing if there was anything else wrong with it( the shocker atleast)

As far as the dm4 goes..ehh.. he got the eyes for free to fix it soo..

I will go half and half..or even 50..but idk

You paid for the board, that was the arrangement.

I mean, try to work it out, but if he tries to blame you for it, hes the one who was too incompetent to plug in a new board, and paid a tech to do it....

You don't own a dime unless you see a reciept. And then you still don't own the whole bill. I wouldn't pay more than what that kind of job should take. At most that work should cost no more than $20, not $70.

You informed him of the problems with the gun. If the problems he's having are unrelated to those, then you shouldn't really be paying for any of them.

If he was a smartparts tech, why did he have to take the gun to someone in the first place?

well i agree that you definitely need to see a reciept and even give the tech that worked on the gun a call.if all is as he says i think that you guys should not be held responsible unless you gave a flase description.like if you guys said 'ya the gun works perfect but needs an upper board, everything else is good.' then i think thats on you to pay for but if you said 'well im not entirely sure whats wrong with it but i know for sure it needs some work on the upper board.'then its on him. he knows what he got into with the deal and neither should expect less than what was agreed upon.

I agree that the tech amount seems a bit over the top, get a receipt to make sure. Also I don't see why you should have to pay, it should be the guy you sold it for.

He says the reason he didn't do it himself is because of time, while he was at work he just dropped the gun off.

only thing about a reciept is that, i believe , from the way he talked the tech is his friend...and he is "in" with whatever field he plays at, so a receipt could easily be made...

Oh and fizz..i won't actually be paying a dime..the owner of the guns will be, but i still don't think he/myself should be held responsible.

                      Thanks for the input everyone.

If I were to purchase a marker I knew had a problem, I would accept the cost to get it into working condition. You made good on the price of a new board. I feel your responsibility ends there. If he chose to pay someone to work on his marker, that's HIS choice. Your responsibility was for the product (new board) and not for the service (installation).

Like you mentioned, not everything adds up here. Sounds to me like he is going through a little buyer's remorse and is trying to get a few bucks back. If he acts like a jerk about it, tell him the only option he has is to return the marker in the same condition in which it was sent and you will refund all monies paid to you by him.

if i understand the explaination correctly ... he knew the gun didn't work ... and you sent the part that fixed the issue ... he paid someone to install the parts ... and wants to stick you with the bill??? the heck no

or he installed the part then found out that something else was wrong ... i may work something out with him ... but not the whole bill.

Yep, its called informed consent. You already informed him of the issue and the price was adjusted accordingly, I don't see where anyone owes him a dime.
