I'll second that! I had the chance to play against a team that had done a few NPPL events and placed about eigth, big news in a little town. It was 5 man speedball, the field set up was pretty similair to most supair fields (which is crazy cuz thats what the bunkers were). That game was the most intense speedballing I had ever done, we actually did pretty well i got an ELIMINATION (I play back, got one of the break), hit my second bunker and was starting to get cocky when I got bunkered by their left front guy, the end score was them with 2 players left, us, zilch. But it was a blast and after the game they walked us through some basic drills they used in their playing, which was way cooler than just giving us props.

btw// They used their backup guns. E-spyders and all that jazz. One was rocking a RTpro
    I can't feel my toes . . .

Around here we have designated games for rentals only, open class(rec), and then team scrimmages that a lot of times you can get in on if you ask. It's nice bouncing back and forth between rec and scrimmaging. Rec is nice to try crazy stuff (run through off the break anyone?), and scrimmages are nice to work on your technique, make sure you're doing everything you're supposed to, etc. Playing against first time rentals(unless they move up themselves) is stupid. As soon as you let out anything over 8 bps, they cower in fear, leaving you free to pick them off. You shouldn't be able to play rental class.

Also, if you had picked up anything on these forums, you'd realize that RRFireblade's been around paintball a long time, probably longer that you've been alive, and he pretty much knows everything. He's respected just about everywhere, not only for the great work he does, but for the way he treats people. I'm not that nice. I'll tell you you were rude straight up. To call an elimination a "kill" is promoting paintball as a violent sport, something that paintball has been fighting against since its birth. I haven't yet met a person who is shocked to hear the statistics on paintball-related injury. The public just doesn't know. It is our responsibility(yes, even yours) to promote a sport you like in a positive way, so that it won't be crushed by legislation from ignorant politicians. Think about it... What's more important to you? Calling it a "kill," or having restrictions placed upon the game.
first of all, about bunkering new players, it was thier choice to play in the open/advanced round where bunkering was allowed. The could have just stuck to the rental games, but they shot at me, so I shot back. And BTW whoever said to stop making paintball sound like a "war game", needs to quit, because that's what paintball obviously is. WGP is Worr games products. I know the Worr is a pun off of Orr (budd Orr) and Worr is a pun of war. Think about it! 't you see, paintball is a war game, if paintball wasn't a war game, we would be throwing paintballs at each other instead of shooting them out of guns. Why do we call it shooting? dosen't that have alot to do with guns? mabe we should call it eliminating instead. And since paintball is a war game reguardless of what you want it to be, I will say KILLS, SHOOTING, and anything else that keeps paintball the way it was meant to be. Say elimination if you want, go ahead.

bps decides on your skill level based on the gun your using. thats stupid. i guess i wont be bringing new players there that are using my equipment. its common for me to let a friend thats never played use either my angel or my excal. those are my loaner guns. i would not want them thrown in with experianced team players for thier first games. everywherre else i go i just tell the refs that they havent played and they are put accordingly even with my equipment. probably helps many of the local places recognize me from playing there.

Obviously, someone doesn't know how paintball started.
Secondly, you whine when your flamed and then do the same.
Thirdly, are you one of those guys who tries to say we're evil and support war because we uh...lets find a word...oh! propel spherical projectiles at each other at speeds ranging from 250 fps to 300 fps?
Fourthly, If you don't like what we say about you, don't go feeding the fire
Fifthly, If you are so out-of-it to think that paintball is a war game then you need a reality check. That's like saying hunting is murder and that's just stupid.
Sixly, Before you go off and make another flaming post about you being flamed remember who start the "which is better triangle or don miguel?" thread.

Boston Paintball has 3 basic categories for the players there on most days,
              Rental
              Intermediate
              Advanced

Unless Theres only a couple of people there that day they will always cycle those games. So if you bring a friend and loan him a gun he would have to play in the Intermediate no matter what gun you let him use.

This field sounds pretty stupid. Forcing a player into a game based on their marker?
That's like sticking the best player in the world in a game filled with newbs because he had a rental.

Don, once again we return to paintball termanology. A "gun" is infact called a paintball marker, we shoot paintballs at 250-300 fps, not the speed of a bullet. A war game in paintball would be a scenario game. Whens the last time you read a story about a five on five speedball style gunbattle in Iraq that ended with everyone still standing, just painted up a little? Woodsballers even know that there is a difference between paintball and war, so stop eating stupid for breakfast if you EVER want to be treated like an advanced player. Anyone who is advanced enough to know the game would know enough to use the right wording when talking about the sport.

                  btw// Paintball=sport
                  War=War

BPS has a rep around here of being the place you go to be a jerk and completely tool on other players. The type of place "pros" would go to lite-up renters for the fun of it.

While not 100% true, the above is the way most people I have talked too think of it.

They are also notorious for saying anything they need to say to sell you anything.

I'm just glad to see that DM plays someplace I don't.
