I tried to defend you by giving you the benefit of the doubt, but you just don't get it.Originally posted by don miguelarms, as between nations or between parties within a nation; warfare, as by land, sea, or air.
we are shooting at each other with weapons, paintball guns are not "toys (as in child's plaything)" and we are shooting at each other with the use of arms (in this case paintball guns).
ARM:
A weapon, especially a firearm: troops bearing arms; ICBMs, bombs, and other nuclear arms.
A branch of a military force: infantry, armor, and other combat arms.
arms
Warfare: a call to arms against the invaders.
Military service: several million volunteers under arms; the profession of arms.
WEAPON:
A weapon is a tool that is intended or is used to injure, kill, or incapacitate, to damage or destroy, or to otherwise render resources non-functional or unavailable. Weapons may be used to attack and defend, and consequently also to threaten or protect. Metaphorically, anything used to damage (even psychologically) can be referred to as a weapon. A weapon can be as simple as a club or as complex as an intercontinental ballistic missile.
TWIRP:
A person regarded as insignificant and contemptible.
An insignificant but arrogant and obnoxious young person.Comment

However, paintball can be used to train for certain situations such as urban fighting and house clearing see http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/lf/Engl..._1.asp?id=1607.
Sure paintball guns can be used for training. Thats not the same as using the game of paintball to train for war. The tactics are not compatible. In basic training you wear hockey gloves and a football helmet during pugalist training. Does that make football and hockey a war game?Comment

In Marine Corps training you also get cheap safety glasses and a red rider bb gun while you are getting mauled by 766 pumpmasters. I would've rather had markers.Originally posted by 11 BravoSure paintball guns can be used for training. Thats not the same as using the game of paintball to train for war. Many of the same tactics and concepts in playing paintball will help down the road while training in the military. Just like team sports like the one you list also help both physically and mentally in that same training. Is there a direct correlation? I think not, just merely coincidence and ones perception.Comment

war games are what the Military uses to train their soldiers for actual battle. once again the only reason paintball markers are even used is because it is visible marking system that allows you to see what/where you are hitting. it has its uses in training howver the parallels areOriginally posted by don miguelwe are shooting at each other with weapons, paintball guns are not "toys (as in child's plaything)" and we are shooting at each other with the use of arms (in this case paintball guns). When I play any kind of paintball, there are 2 (or more) teams shooting at each other, makingsomewhat of a warfare scenario.
Paintball guns are not toys this is true, if used improperly they could cause serious harm, but so could most household cleaning items if used improperly. But even put that aside for now, My main question Don is this, when you play paintball do you go home when your done? cause you see when your in a war that doesn't happen, even in training you don't get to just stand up, sayy,"I'm done!" and walk off the battle field, war there's always the chance you won't be coming home, paintball its more likely to get injured in the car on the way to/from the field. Last I knew you aren't called up by the US Govn't to serve a term of 3+ yrs to play paintball.
now with that said I am going to go PLAY paintball, you see I gotta shoot one of my buddies who got an SL66 XSV Ego so I'm gonna bunker him with my mag.
you see if I used the term kill then that would implicate that I want my friend to die and as he's a friend of mine that is untrue. if you want to pull definitions out of you A** look up the defintion of "kill" and you might realize how your still wrong.Comment
