And I love it!
I can't explain how much I love this. I'm definately hooked.
I started the day in kinda a rut. I show up at 9, pay entry(brought my paint), and my first fill, and hand the guy my little 3.5 oz tank. He takes it and says, "you know, there's still some in there, you can go play before you come back and get it filled." But I wanted to start the day with a fresh tank, I didn't know how much was left in the old one, so I have him fill it. He sets up his co2 station and hooks up my tank. He's fiddling with it for awhile, and after about 5 minutes, he comes back to me and says, "Well, it looks like your pin is bent." At this point, I'm like... you're kidding right? How the heck am I supposed to play if he's just destroyed my tank? I stayed cool though, and point out to him that it was holding air before I handed it to him. So he takes it into the back, and fiddles with it for awhile, and comes back to me 5-10 minutes later, pokes the pin, and the pin falls out. Now I'm like... wtf? Then he says something like, "It's really not my responsibility for this... I called my supplier, they don't carry these... go back to where you bought it and see what they'll do for you"

I decided not to get pissed yet, so drove a half hour round trip to the store and back. They replaced it, free of charge. Excellent store. I was hoping they would, but really wasn't expecting anything. The store is Devil Mountain Sports on pacheco blvd in concord, CA. They've also got a website, www.dmspaintball.com .
So I get back, and the guy says he'll comp my air, because of the trouble, so I'm like, okay. Finally, an hour and a half into the day, I start playing. At first, I just got used to playing pump, not being able to hold people down with a burst or short string of paint at their bunker. I didn't realize how much I actually relied on that until I lost the ability to. The first couple games were really a learning experience for me, that my old techniques wouldn't work anymore. Then I ended up playing a short one on one with a guy who played tourney ball up in oregon(he'd borrowed a vl orion, so I wasn't seriously outgunned), and he pretty much tried to bunker me within the first 15 seconds of the game. At that point, I realized that one shot really is all you need. He shot about 3 at me, every one missed. I shot one at him, got his leg. Whee!

Then I had a relatively good day, and noticed that I was still able to shoot people. I had to play a lot more agressively off the break, and alot more defensively after that, but I wasn't horribly outgunned and mauled.
My crowning moment was a 5 on 5 game where I took the 40 right laydown off the break, and snapped out the back right aztek, bumped up to the 50 right dorito, and was snapping with their center back. He drew back and started shooting out the other side, and what do I do? RUN THROUGH! I must have been on crazy pills... a run through with a pump? I got a lucky shot to the back of a guy on the left(I saw it break on him, and he walked off), at about their 20, and at the same time, someone else shot out the back center guy I was going for. Then I notice that they've still got a guy in the snake, and I'm back in their base, and he doesn't know I'm there... I got within about 3 feet of him and yell surrender to end the game.

So I'm pumped.
Who else loves pump?
. It was still fun though. I used like 200 balls and actually had an excuse for not shooting anyone the whole day.

It gets crazy cause theres a lot more movement than in a semi game.
