Im assuming that your coming down with some buddies for the open game or for a private game, correct? This IL AO event is being set up as a private game. Fox does not allow open game players, other private games, or team practice to combine play.
Your more than welcome to come over and hang out with us between games. This will also be a mild setup of a swap meet. Players are encouraged to bring their Mag stuff with them to see who has what, and who wants what.
If your planning on playing with the AO group, then you would have to pay the additional fee, sorry.

Things are looking up. I did receive payment for 6 players forthe AO event today, for both Saturday and Sunday. Keep those reg's a rollin. This will give me an idea on what to plan for.

Heres the deal;
This started out as a nice little "Meet & Greet" throw together game that nobody could decide on where to plan it at. As an event organizor, I kind of took the reigns and everything took off like wildfire. Awesome suggestions, great ideas, 2 day event, Mag tourney under the lights, etc.
I have been able to hold this spot at the Fox field up to this point. It seems that this thread (Along with the idea of an event) has died. I have pushed this as hard as I could on my end, on the net, in person, and at the field.
Right now, I have 6 players that have registered for this event, and we were expecting over 100. That day will be booked solid with private games at Fox, and adding a 6 player game to one of those spots while bumping a potentially larger group just isnt ging to cut it. (10player minimum on all PG's at Fox)
I really wanted this game to happen, and hope it still does, however, I am officially washing my hands of this event. Someone else will need to step up and take charge. I will help whoever wants to take over, but this needs to be done ASAP. Someone else will need to be the "Event Organizer" and set this game up through Fox Paintball. I have all the information that will be needed for the new Organizer.
I also have the payment from the 6 players that have registered for this event. This money is 100% refundable if the event does not happen. The person taking charge from here on out can use this money as a deposit to hold the 19th and 20th as a Private Game reservation at Fox.
I apologise for this, but I have way to many other large events that I need to focus on through SPLATTERZONE PAINTBALL PROD and I cannot run a last minute event. These games take planning, preparation, and organization and I feel that if I have to throw all of this together at the very last minute that this event will not be the event that everyone wants this event to be.
PM me or send me an e mail with any questions. If nobody steps up to take over as the Organizer, the money for these 6 players will be refunded on the day of the event was to take place.

I just wanted to post that this event has officially been cancelled. Its a shame that we couldnt get more AO players in here in Illinois involved in this event. I have had a few calls this week, but pre registration is always the key to any event.
All refunds have been issued to the players that did pre register. Im still all for hosting this event, possibly this fall, however, we would need a much earlier commitment from players for any future event.

Well, I was at the Fox Field all weekend, and as sad as this may seem, I did not have one person come up to me and ask me about the IL AO day that was to happen last weekend. I had a few Staff people ask, but that was it.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, even with all the hooooopla talk about holding this event was just that, talk. Is the AO gang dyeing off, or was this just a bad idea from the get go?? Sorry it didnt work out for us. This has brought a small tear to my eye.
Im still at the field every weekend, and im alwasy up for new game/event idea if you want to talk to me about them. Good luck and I hope to see most of you at the Fox Field very soon.

No it was great idea. The problem, as i have said before, was the fact that all the important info got buried on like page 3 of this thread. And even then, you had to KNOW it was there and where to look. For the average magger that may have wanted to come they just couldnt find the info they needed. Its no ones fault. Some one just should have made a thread that stated the what when where and how of it all. I am 100% certain we could do it and do it rocking again. Just with better "thread" planning this time.

If you go back and read this thread as someone who didnt know what was going on its near impossible to figure out which part is the planning and which is the definite. At least until page 3 but again, you cant promote something if people cant find the info. Its not Pyro's fault. He did everything he could do, from his end, to make this happen. One of us, myself included, should have made the proper info thread and tried to have it stikied. Or, at the very least, bumped.


it WILL happen though. especially since i just bought an emag.

Hey, its all good. We all wanted this to happen and all that the players that didnt know what was going on had to do is read back. This was posted everywhere that I post all ofmy events, and then some.
And Jeff, I want my man panties back, those were my favorite ones.
