I can see if any of my friends can help with gettin a PMI test, unless there's anywhere in Colorado you guys know that'll do it for free

But I'm wondering why noone trusts density anymore, after all that's one physical characteristic that is pretty much impossible to change to such an extent as to mistake steel or aluminum with titanium. As for errors in measurement, yes they do occur, but they'd have to be pretty far off for me to get a density of one substance to be so similar to the density of another. Granted there's no reason for any of you to trust me in what i say I obtained as for values, but I do have confidence in my abilities as far as calculations and measurements (I have a degree in molecular cellular developmental biologyand my lab results from experiments were always quite accurate:P)

...for a real titanium valve made by AGD, what I'm posting is more likely than not made by another company, AGD has never made 8-hole modded valves, and while it is possible that someone modded it after, and this is only the back half of the valve. Surely if it were one made by AGD it would still have the front half.

EDIT: before everyone gets there panties in a bunch. when tom et al were looking up machinable titaniums, you are expecting me to believe that the guys who are so detail oriented they designed and built these automags, missed the "density" column on the spec sheet?

any other company and group of folks, i'd believe it ... but tom? mr i so cleverly cheated the laws of air pressure with the ULT tom kaye?

I'm curious... was this just the back piece (reg) or was the complete valve made from Ti?

you would be able to tell them apart if the power tubes were made from TI. TI gets all galled up when another metal rubs against it unless you have it plasma coated.

You should really be able to tell if you have a TI valve by comparing the weight of a stainless steel one. If they are the same size/design i would expect the TI one to weight aprox 46% less. Probably still much heavier than a X valve though. I believe the X valves are 7075 aluminum......6061 is lighter but not as strong. Curious to know if 7075 was chosen for the strength or durability?

Who knows....all 20 might have been put on rental guns or something weird!

Think about how cool it would be to Titanium anodize your valve!!
