wouldn't the creators of "warcraft" own "pwned"?
I mean, they started it, and the word has been an internet commonality for like a decade. Same with leet.
Sadly, there is not a smiley on any forum that can depict how I feel about Smart Parts.Last edited by Pneumagger; 03-24-2007, 07:36 AM.Comment

lol, wow, a lot of you are getting way to worked up over this. Anyone else can still use terms like that, SP doesnt own the word/phrase or anything. They are just using it and thats it. I admit im not a fan of SP but please STFU with this stuff already. Not everything they do is evil (their ad for example) and most of you just jump to conclusions w/o knowing anything about what your saying.Comment

It is done within an industry. For example, FEP can trademark the name Quest when it is related to paintball. Nissan can trademark the name Quest when it is related to the auto industry.Originally posted by Pneumaggerwouldn't the creators of "doom" own "pwned"?

Kinda silly, but why not...Hey, look at that! It's Santa!

Almost makes me wanna go out and start using the silly little slang terms just to see if I can draw fire from SP's cadre of lawyers. Almost. We do have to maintain standards, after all.
Does anybody remember SP's ad campaign that came out right after they acquired Dynasty? Dynasty had been on this big roll, winning bloody everything, SP picks 'em up and starts touting all of D's championships in their ads... all of them won with someone else's marker and equipment.Comment

That is saying that they are trademarking it, meaning another company would not be able to use it in reference to paintball. I would like to say this continues to show they are an evil company, but it is a better example of them being nincompoops.Andrew Borntreger
