I love how we have to re-engineer an already engineered product to fix all the issues with it and get it working. Right after we just got the finished product back.

    Good job PROGRAM!

Only some people are having issues, which means theres more to the problem than "It was engineered wrong" Theres multiple users who've stated they've put cases through their gun with no problems. Unfortunatly, people with the problem aren't forthcoming with clear pictures and explanations of setups.

Sorry Drix, but PTP had delivered five generations of Micromags before and none of them EVER had a problem. This time, even though I love the looks and feel of my MM2K9, I have to say they screwed up BIG TIME.

Drix, I have posted pictures of the issue along with setup details, and havent got so much as a hi or bye from anyone at PTP. You guys know the dimensions of the body, fashion a washer and help out those of us having the problem...... instead of playing naive to the situation.

I really just want to use the damn gun, so either just say your going to help the situation or hinder it so at least people like me know where to go from here.

Again I would have the washer made locally if it wouldn't cost an arm and leg to do so.

Ok so we can put the picture/setup crap to bed here are more pictures taken with a 1500 dollar canon.

            Valve, lv X being used

            Actual marker

Image from back side shoing total area of damage

            View of side of breech

            View of bottom of breech

Another view of side of breech

Another view of bottom of breech

Those pics are showing the damage perfectly, even the down the valve side of the breech pic. And again so there's no wiggle room the valve is a X-valve, lv X using the standard short spring. Under a case has gone through the gun. Now we can stop playing like people are making all this up and get to the solution part of the day!!!

            Thanks

My body has this exact same damage.

I have also had trouble getting the velocity up about 250 fps, due to that I have only shot maybe 200 balls through it, but dry fired it perhaps 4000 times, trying to break it in as suggested by some folks over in the MM velocity issues thread. I wonder if it is related, and the lip from the damage is causing drag on the bolt. So any fixes you might come up with, I would be most interested in hearing about.

My setup is E-Mag lowers, and an X-Valve with gold spring.

EDIT: Some of the dry firing has been with the X-Valve turned all the way in (no venting!?), trying to get the velocity up.

Can see if there is any damage done on the wide part of your bolt (the lip)? Or maybe on the narrow portion of it that goes the breach opening...

No damage to the lip, and on the bolt tip itself there is some wear on the first 1/2 inch. Problem is, I don't know if this wear is from the MM body, or from the Z-body I had before. The Z-body was a tight fit and caused some wear, now I do not know remember if the wear is more now.

Out of curiostiy GG, do you have a dog in this show or are you just rabblerousing? If there is an issue, it does need to be resolved, but if you don't have a vested interest in this situation, perhaps you should step out.

yes unfortunately i have a dog in this show and cannot get over how it is always someone else's problem i worked with a company that did field engineering for years it goes as follows first to get blame is receiving the wrong stock then it is the machinist for not following a print then it is a vendor for not following instructions then it is an assembler for not paying attention then it is a finaler for not catching a problem and last but not least the quality control person who it told to just ship it when in reality it is engineering because they never tested it properly it is a shame that a major player is dropping to this level

Okay... so how many others have the same type of damage and how many cycles on the body (rounds + dry fire)?

I will say that I have not yet been able to shoot mine yet, so obviously no damage yet.

I've been afraid to assemble mine because of all of the problems everyone else is having with them. I figure once a solution is figured out, I'll get mine modified and then play with it.

I live near PTP's machine shop here in Florida (20 minutes I think), so I am willing to take my MM in to have it looked at, if that would help. Please be assured that I am willing to work on this calmly and rationally, I think that would be in everyone's best interest. PTP, please PM me if you'd like to set something up.

In addition to the damage, I am also having trouble getting the velocity high enough, as described here:
This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

Lastly, I just realized I destroyed two detents, one of the stock ones, and then one replacement one. Unfortunately, I replaced both detents when the stock one broke, and I did not notice if the ones that got destroyed were both on the same side, but I am guessing they were. I will pay more attention if and when I replace again. With the replacement detents, I made sure that the body of the detent did not protrude into the breech. Perhaps there is an alignment issue? Perhaps these issues are all related.

Took mine apart and looked at it. No issues with the breach at all, but there is some ano wear inside the body where the spring rests. If you touch the inside lip with your finger it seems like there is a ridge forming, but when I run a dental pick across it, I don't feel anything. So I am not sure if I am just feeling the ridge where the body widens or if something else is going on. Body is gloss black and I have put maybe a case or two through it.
