Actually, I just found out. What you have is a case of UltraFyre. A run of it was done for the WCPPL. They had some left over and are apparently subbing it for fyre on current orders.

By the way, if anybody is interested in a half a skid of it, shoot me a PM, have a great deal on the tourney grade paint.

Paint came in today. No broken balls, and im guessing i got some of the UltraFyre. We will be playing with it next sat, and i will let you know how it goes.

i order straight from apx for the few cases that i have bought. i have to say that i am not impressed by the ultra fyre. my old fyre would break when dropped from waist high on concrete. this stuff didn't break from head high after multiple drops. it runs about .682 and a little smaller in size. shoots well enough but since i play pump only i need one shot breaks. i ordered this box right from apx and will attribute the hard shell to it sitting outside in the sun when the delivery guy dropped it off and may have cooked it a little. maybe some time in the fridge will help things out. they were decently round with nice bright fill. the cases of fyre that i bought in the past were about 2 years ago so they may have changed styles. looks like valken now uses the paint company that apx used to use since the valken balls are tiger striped

Sounds about right. I didn't think we used the tiger stripe anymore. Actually, all our manufacturing has moved stateside.

Let me know how it shoots after you've let it sit for a few days. The story I"m getting from the factory right now is that the shell seems to be fairly sensitive to travel, but should settle out if stored in a cool and dry environment for a few days. I haven't had any for myself yet.

will do. i have always liked fyre for the price and quality. shoots real well and has a nice bright thick fill. will hit you up in a couple of months when this case runs dry

Shot the ulra fyre sat, and it did just fine. I was a bit worried about the shell, it looked kind of faded (like plastic that sat in the sun to long). Shot great, no chops, super thick fill.

same here. just went through a bag of it today and it shot pretty good. didn't seem to have very many bounces even with the harder shell. i think a few days in the deep freeze helped it out but the humidity and heat today brought it right back to size. i always enjoyed APX fyre paint.

*UPDATE*

I received the package a day earlier than expected, packed well in styrofoam peanuts. I had zero broken paint upon arrival. I took the paint out to play last Saturday. The weather was cool (60*) with low humidity. The paint worked well throughout the day in both my Tac 1 with Qloader and in my buddy's X7 Phenom and I had zero breaks in both markers through the day.
