well you could use a 5 way noid simialr to the matrix or e-blade and replumb it shoot that way but i think keep the same design 2 noid and run the lpr i think it would be more intresting. plus its not a shocker w/ out the 2 noids :)

YOu do realize the new shocker is a single "5way" solinoid design. With my idea you would only need a 2 way solinoid. (simpler) And a lpr. And... it woudln't look anythign like what's out there. and still have the LX benifits. ;-) you got me thinging there.

well if your gonna use a 2 way that changes alot how were you plaing on doing it.

        dual tube?
single tube w/ valve chamber and popet?
or keeping original body but doing some replumbing ?

The shocker uses a 2 way to operate the fireing poppet. If you tie the bolt to the fire poppet and changed the dimetions of the skirt and or plug you could get level 10 type gntleness and aleviate the need for a ram to move the bolt. This project would not be built in a shocker body.

You don't need the spring. But that would kinda bypass the idea of building the gun more simply, and going for efficancy. with the 2way valve NO air is wasted and all the air goes towards propelling the ball. with the 4way setup you're looking at something much more complex, and still dependant on a LPR. Using the 4way to run the gun you might as well be running a matrix or a new shocker.

why not use the body and connect the bolt to piston through some linkage? it would act almost like a upside down busmaster or psudo rainmaker

or i get what you mean

but just glue the firing rod to the popet (temporary) later add a threaded rod

                  Huh?

the bushmaster and rainmaker are completely unrelated guns. the bushmaster is a linked hammer and bolt design, with a poppet valve. the rainmaker is an autococking semi. (nelson based instead of sheriden based like most people are used to)

Using a ram to move the poppet makes the gun more dependant on electronics. That is something I'm not fond of. With just a pilot jet starting the cycle, and the gun finishing on it's own, you could even run the gun using a mechanical trigger, no timing involved.

You also drasticly reduce seal count by removing the ram, and the 4 way valve. These are all good things on a gun design that already had WAY to many seals involved.

Well the overall idea is to improve the gun ;-) I have some ideas on where I want to go with this. First dropping the closed bolt BS. That would eliminate a ram and a solinoid. From there? I dunno. I think that's a pretty darned good start ;-)
