If force of friction and barrel to paint bore size are the real only things that matter in barrel accuracy then why not a barrel made of delron or a aluminum barrel with delron inserts of some sort? Wouldnt that work better then aluminum for the same reasons that steel works better then aluminum? (because steels FOF is better then aluminums) One would think that plastics like delron which have much less FOF then aluminum would make better barrels.

A proper fitting barrel has such low friction, that there probably wouldn't be any benefit. There would be consequences though. Delrin is soft and more liable to get damaged.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts. -
www.equationusa.com already does a similar concept, their barrels are coated in teflon, which is a very low friction material, like delrin.Everyone is equal, just some people are more equal than others.

you have a working link for equation? not meaning anything bad towards you, but that link never worked for me, and i'd love to see their stuffOriginally posted by chaos lichenwww.equationusa.com already does a similar concept, their barrels are coated in teflon, which is a very low friction material, like delrin.Comment

Its close to the same idea as a teflon barrel but how long does teflon last? ... i definatly think that it would give better accuracy then a aluminum back and last longer then a teflon coated back... whats the problem with ball breaks in delron? i never had to stop playing for the day with a delron bolt cause i broke a ball...Comment

dang, they did? they made a cheap barrel set... anyway, i do not know this for sure, i base all i know on readings (i say this again, i have not played paintball, i just joined for the workshop... but hey i've done lotsa research). also you're not supposed to use oil on your delrin bolts because they absorb it and swell.. or at least thats what people around the place say. (for that matter, i've heard that with any self lubricating bolt material...). i could be wrong, and if i am i apologize.Comment

I don't think it's a problem really. I've run oil through my cocker with a delron bolt with no problems. AS for barrelbreaks and swelling due to paint, wouldn't this be a problem with delron bolts as well? I do not believe that it is.Originally posted by Rokudontrue, but it is still a liquid.. basically liquid with wax added.. i'm ASSUMING the liquid splits form the wax, but EXTREMELY minutely... again, an ASSUMPTION
