    [QUOTE=SlartyBartFast]That's really cool.

    The stock bolt is pretty sad though. But I bet that Bolt has something to do with being able to cheat. (Modifying dwell modifies FPS) I can't believe that a designer would deliberately design something so obviously deficient. (edit: maybe I'm being harsh. But, the design is still stupid and obviously wastes air.)

    QUOTE]

    you know it's a funny thing Slarty,I've done a ton of reverse engineering on both the new shocker and the matrix. actually, the amount of air used on the evolve bolt just to fire the ball(not move the bolt) is incredibly efficient. I've found that the shocker only uses 8.5 cu. in. of air to fire a ball, using the evolve bolt. that is pretty damn low. I believe it has alot to do with the flow capabilities of the bolt and the minimum amount of pre- air expansion. but the shocker's main problem with efficiency is the o-ring friction. it uses up another 4.0" cu in of air per cycle, just to move the bolt. I believe that is due to all the large o-rings being used to seal 200 psi through the whole design.

    I believe the matrix design has the potential to be as efficient as a viking. with a redesign,I believe it could get 2000 shot off a 68/4500. and still run on the same psi, and be just as fast.

      You know what would be cool? Flip that cylinder around, lathe a hole through the middle, add a spring return type of gizmo (making the cylinder single-acting) and make the air input come in from the cylinder shaft, and making the housing move instead of the shaft. I'll see if I can draw it out real fast.

      Mags don't shoot darts... they shoot nails.
      I used to be bertmcmahan, that I did.

        If i get what you're saying, then that's a variation of a mag, a blow-forward gun.

        Definately extra lube. I keep two bottles at all times. Can't leave home w/o your lubricant.

          Well I guess it would be kinda similar to a mag, but instead of the piston itself controlling the air output it would be controlling the spool valve on the outside (rather than inside) of the bolt.
