      I can't say I'm surprised.

smartparts has always been using solenoid valves at high pressures, and I'm sure they've been wanting to do this for a while.

doesn't matter to awful much to me about the higher operating psi. while it can be more efficient if used properly, I doubt that is what they were shooting for. the increase in the valves Hz is a good idea, but they didn't really get that much more out of it, and they did fail to mention that they increased the wattage, therefore increasing consumption. that right there can increase the speed.

the main thing is now they can throw this special high pressure sol. valve in all thier guns, say it's better with tons of hype, and charge an arm and a leg for it. the valve will be proprietary, so you have to buy it from them and the profit margine will be higher.

to me, a real advance in solenoid valves would be to get 45+ cps out of it. just like the little poppet type 3-way sol. valves. like the one I use in my electro-mag. do that with a high flow, spool type 4-way.

Hummm..... 2 THOSANDTHS of a second performance increase, yea I'm impressed. Higher pressure, what happened to low pressure being better? Pay more for the hype, BINGO! Go get em guys, I'm sure you will feel that 2 thou difference.

I had a great discussion with one of the lead guys at Humphrey involved with this product. He assured me they are serving the paintball industry, not just Smart Parts. There is a version of this valve available to anyone who wants it. The main difference with the SP specific valve is that the coil and wire connector were tuned specifically to the NERVE board. The general version is a 5VDC coil instead of 7VDC for the SP one. I am going to get one of these valves and pair it with the new morlock board to make a Matrix Body upgrade for the original Matrix. I will probably put the board and this valve inside the body and put the battery in the grip.

The reason I was given for the high pressure design of this valve is so a marker with ACE can eliminate the LPR normally needed to cycle the ram. I am not sure that idea will fly with consumers, who has an impulse without an LPR added to it?

              Hype hype hype...

What does it mean, "first solenoid valve designed for paintball?" This is like the first sports drink designed for paintball or something... or the first pair of boxer shorts designed for paintball. There is nothing revolutionary about their solenoid valve at all. They may be making a valve with specs that aren't found on existing valves (which does not make it better) because they have a specific application in mind - matching it to other parts in their marker.

The first force feed loader, the first semi-automatic... these are things that were "the first designed for paintball," and were entirely new things.

And you think AGD or DYE is going to set up their own R&D department and try to make solenoid valves competitively with a company like Humphrey???
This valve shows that paintball has been recognized as it's own industry by a component manufacturer that HAS the r&d to really develop a revolutionary valve. This particular valve was limited by the constraint that it had to be a direct replacement for the old style valve, future products will not have to follow that constraint.

and the point of this post is? aisde from not being able to comprehend totally due to poor grammar skills, are you just trying to put down smart parts?

how long will it take before people realize it was NEVER "cool" to rap upon smart pats like such, and that it was just a 12 year old monkey-see monkey-do one sided ****-throwing contest?

yea, my dad got that issue in the mail and gave it to me thinking it was a paintball mag.
hes not to fond of my pb habbits so i think he felt violated when his mags are talking about the innovations in my sport. haha

                        Why is it revolutionary?

This valve is not, but they are trying to develop one. You have to start somewhere.....

Max ROF being bumped from 24 to 28? We already have noids that can make guns break the 30 barrier.

                            Silly Smart Parts!

According to the Designer and manufacturer of the valves (NOT Smartparts), the current valves on the market can only achieve 24 COMPLETE cycles per second. That means drop off when cycling at rates faster than 24. Has anyone seen actual DATA showing a gun cycling with paint at 30 bps and not having velocity drop off?? That LCD readout on the gun is not a reliable data source......

                              Don't confuse fact with hype.....
