I have a similar problem to temilotzin's.

I have 2 no-rise twist lock 3.2 emags. I successfully flashed and over-wrote (word?) 3.2 with 1.61 flash.hex in one of them, but was hesitant to do the second because I haven't been able to save any of the 3.2 as a backup (probably a non issue).

When I hook up the second 3.2, and open the Atmel suite, click tools, and then AVR prog..., the 1.61 hex file automatically appears in the top box- not 3.2. I have saved the hex file to disc and deleted it from all of my computer folders to prevent it from appearing, but the atmel suite has it saved somewhere and it rewrites itslf to the folder from which it was removed when I hit flash read.

There is probably some simple thing that I am not doing. Anyone have a fix?

Are there any instructions/steps to save ADG 3.2 (or any version on current board) on the new USB programmer and software prior to flashing 1.61 or newer?
Seems like there are some confusion happening.

BTW, I have gmail and when I downloaded 1.61 it gave the file a .txt extension. This will likely cause the problem those with gmail were experiencing.

You need to rename the file with a .HEX extension. Make sure your folder option do NOT have "Hide extensions for known file types" checked. If it is you will likely not see the .txt at the end of the file name and not realize you have a problem. You can find this setting in XP in Windows Explorer by clicking on Tools -> Folder Options and selecting the View tab.

Excellent point, I forgot about that. That will probably solve the problem with gmail not working correctly.

With regard to saving your old AGD 3.2 I sent out an email with BETA 1.61 that detailed how to do this. If you did not get it, please email me and let me know that you're not getting my emails, or so that I can add you to the list of people to send them to. The manual rev0.5 is actually wrong on this, I will fix it this weekend, but for now I will explain it again. you must use the browse button at the top and type a filename that does not yet exist then when you hit open it does not create that file untill you click read. At that point, after you're read it, you hit browse again and pick BETA 1.61 and click program and everythign will work fine.

The first couple test runs of the software on my gun are as follows

X valved Emag -
ROF 16, 17, 18 bps
900 psi input
about 1 year old (major upgrade by Tunaman)
approx 25,000-30,000 shots since upgrade about 125k before
DWELL 15
FIX 45
Ran great no issues in any of the mods, the funny thing is I'm sill having a FA issues but it isn't the software or the Noid but the actual trigger, it will bounce back and forth, if I start ripping and then take my fingers completely off the trigger it will actually bounce back and forth. It is kinda funny to watch I think I'm going to have to remove one of the 2 o-rings under my trigger magnet to get this to stop.

Second test run
ROF 24 bps (I know I should go that high but I have to check it out)
1200 psi input (gotta love the old AA Appoc tanks)

The only issue I experience here was my halo couldn't keep up with me in anything besides semi so I used a ten foot piece of PVC piping, my little brother on top of the garage and gravity feed the gun and it worked great but I think I might get weird looks walking out on the field with that thing.

I will be posting more as to me experiences or issue once I'm done with two sessions of play on Saturday.

Being as I was the one with the issue about gmail, nothing I did would let the file recognize as an Intel hex file out of gmail. Both files Lorne sent to my gmail account (1.6 & 1.61)wouldn't work but the one sent to my Comcast account did. I did a ton of different stuff to them after downloading them and them not working. I am seriously at a loss as to what the actual issue is with the files out of gmail.

A 10ft PVC pipe! DUDE you're CRAZY for even testing with that... But it is a good test to know. I couldn't ask for more deticated BETA testers.

I just want to try a gravity feel and the only thing I really had was a 10 foot piece I couldn't see cutting it down because it is a really weird size that my dad bought for some reason, didn't want to screw up the pipe and have my dad come over looking for it, for what ever project he bought it for. Plus it didn't help that my little brother was goating me on.
The pipe held about 400 rounds, but I had to hold in on to the pipe and the top on my gun with one hand and fire with the other, it was a bit difficult but kinda cool at the same time

just got my x valved emag going..it has 1.61 and its running a cheetah halo with a warp..the halo also has an s4 kit..and the warp has the 12v mod...omg this thing rips!!!! i love nxl and hyper mode in hybrid...i tried at 25..i kno dumb...and my emag didnt like it...so i went to 15..and 17..and it was great...no fa bug at all..but i only got 3 poids through it..i yhink i have a major leak..but i couldnt hear it..my 112 tank was gone in 3 pods..and it was filled to about 3500...and i did put oi[FONT=Arial]l in the asa before i started..ahh well i get the idea..omg lorne this is rediculous..

Xmod 1.61

Just upgraded the Code to XMOD 1.61 on my X-MAG. I went through all the menus and played with the Millenium mode, very nice. I like that mod because you have to walk the trigger to keep the max ROF. I tested the marker with air and went through the modes.

Testing Values:
X-MAG
NXL, MIL, Hyper, Brst (9shot)
max ROF 17 bps.
985PSI input
3yo approx 100k shots on it
DWELL 13
FIX25

After putting air through the marker at these settings I noticed at the ROF in NXL I was missing shots. I uped the DWELL to 15 and no problems. I think it is cool I just added a MODE that I will problably use alot. Excellent work Lornecash!!!! More to Come.......

Xmod after-action report for 4/2/06

Gun:Xmag

OMFG. I used the Xmod'd Xmag today for the first time since overhauling it. Im am still stunned. The Xmod turned my nice little Xmag into a beast.

I did have some problems with my warp-link cable. I have to check it, I think I pinched it. SO I abandoned the warp for the more conventional Halo on top.

I played most of the day with the ROF at 17 and the ACE on. It ripped. No problems, no hanging noid, no missed shots. Later in the day, for the last game I moved the ROF up to 20 and still kept the ACE on. It worked great. It seems that as long as you have the ACE keeping the speed of the gun inline with how fast the balls are feeding you dont run into the same BS you do when dry firing the gun.

My Etac didnt fair so well. I lent it out to my friends buddy, who is basically still a noob. He wet his pants using it, but did manage to break as many balls in it as actually left the barrel.

All in all, an A+ performance. If I wasnt such a homophobe, I would kiss Lornecash is I ever met him.

well lorne congrats.

So far i have played in semi auto with Xmod 1.5. I am guessing no programming changes have been made from 1.5 to 1.61 in this mode.
Mode: Semi
ROF: 15 bps
Ace: off( i am using a X-Mag) forgot to turn it on. whoops...i do have a level X
Fix: 46
Dwell: 15
PSI: 1000 psi(Flatline adjustable)
Velocity: 280 consistant with 4 bps either way
Hopper: Halo with a cheetah board
And a blue bumper!

Worked flawless, the only thing that happened was i didn't have the screw tight enough to ground the board. So i did what any X/E-mag owner would do and flipped into manual and still killed fools

Then today i played with the 1.61 installed
Mode: Millenium (didn't realize it, didn't care)
ROF: 15bps
Ace: off again (same situation as above)
Fix: 49
Dwell: 13
PSI: 1000 psi
Velocity: 280 fps
hopper: Halo with victory board...Cheetah board went down...anyone with ideas?

Suck!

Alright I know I was supposed to update the manual and do some coding this weekend but I've been busy dealing with mechanical problems. I wish I could report the same results as all you guys but the 3 xmags that I have are really old (XT00120, XT00146, XT00197) and I am having mechanical issues with them. They were alright whith 3.2 because I was probably only shooting 14bps Max, but now that I am able to push them faster they are chopping like mad. I spent all yesterday and half of today adjusting the level 10's on the two I play with and contacted Tuna several times and I made them softer but they still don't feel that soft.

I'm at the point where I'm ready to buy two whole new valves.

I wish people were buying the programmers a little faster, because I think that's what I'm going to wind up doing. Not to mention I bought a new solenoid and it won't thread into that block that it's supposed to. It's like the threads don't match. I cleaned the threads at least 10 times and still stops at the same spot.

i have one of the earlier guns also...if i remember right the first five hundred got anodized together....team guns to be honest(most of them). Anyway i have XT00324 and i have no problems if there i anything you need help with i know the youngest x-mag gun tech. Maybe we can get you staightened out. let me know.
