Dave, don't waste your time trying to convince these surrender monkeys.

There isn't anything you can say or show them that would make them change their minds.

Anyone that's openly advocating the defeat of their own country the way these clowns are, isn't worth the effort of having a discussion with.

There is nothing on this earth that can penetrate the defensive power of tinfoil.

So what if the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. Just because they were from Saudi doesn't mean that their gov't supported them. I don't know enough about Iraq to make an argument but Afghanistan was definitely balls deep in terrorism

It's upsetting to see this degrade into an argument on current events and politics.

To get back to the point, I agree with what many have said. And to kick the dead horse, every branch is unique and has different strengths and weaknesses. Do your research and you'll likely find what you're looking for. Talk to recruiters, but DON'T ONLY TALK TO THEM. Think about what kind of job you're looking to do, find someone in that field if you can, ask your recruiters that you may be talking to.

I'm not active duty yet, but I'm about a year away from commissioning into the Air Force as a Civil Engineering Officer (AFSC: 32EX) and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'll be third generation Air Force. Both of my grandfathers and my father were Career Air Force.

I've met many Air Force officers that started their military careers in the Army. So no matter what branch you choose, there's always the potential to cross-train into another branch if you're not finding what you're looking for.

It's not a question of politics, it's a question of service and duty to ones country. And while I hope everyone can accomplish those in their lifetime, it does not necessarily mean through military service.

I wish you the best of luck in your decisions, if you haven't already made yours.

        -Sean

The Coasties do not have nicer equipment than us, they are complaining about the exact opposite. They are working on a shoe string.

          Marine Corps > Army

The Navy rules. If you don't want to be a grunt, go Navy. However, be warned. The DoD is pulling what are called IA's on Navy personel. This means any sailor in the fleet, including officers, can be pulled into Iraq as advisors or combatants on the ground. It is a stupid policy started by Rumsfeldt and his moronic "econocrats" and the new Secdef isn't doing anything about it. So be warned. If you want the safest job, go join the Airforce. You'll have to suffer through the numerous jokes though lol. Damn country clubbers...

Oh my god I don't think I can imagine a bigger difference. That's probably why the marriage failed. She couldn't stand the Marine making fun of her father nonstop lol.
