    National Anthem at NFL Kickoff

What the hell? It should be against the law to add "flare" to the national anthem. Every big game has some bastardized version sung by a crappy R&B "artist"

There is no good reason that a military chorus shouldnt be doing these games. Capt. America is truly dead.....

Sorry, had to vent. But this continues to go on? Its no better than Rosanne Barr IMO.

I still stand and say it proudly every morning. An adminastrator says it on the PA every morning. I say it extra loud when the UNDER GOD part comes up.

                When they stop saying it?

I can't remember for the life of me if we said it in High School or not (04). I don't think we did.. but it was a private school. But I know we did it all up to the end of middle school.

I stopped saying it when I lost my gullibilty.

                      I'll gladly say it.
But it's no longer the Cold War.
We arent fighting a godless enemy.

I think we can take it out now.

I don't say it to any enemies, I say it for my satisfaction. I like knowing that soldiers risk everything to protect me and all the rest of us. I thank them every chance I get. You never know when it may be the last chance you get!

You do realize that the original Pledge never contained those words, which were added during the height of the McCarthy era for religio-political purposes, to ensnare the free thinking of impressionable youth for the forseeable future?

Pretty ironic to introduce religion, an inherently divisive concept, into what was ostensibly an entreaty for national solidarity.

Im really glad that AO is, for the most part, patriotic. Say what you want about our socio-political system. We still live in the greatest country on the planet. So put down that pie, its time for AO to take it back

Years ago, something about Muslim's not being able to pledge their allegiance to nothing but god (Allah). Which is IMO goes against the whole separation church and state. But then again we are a melting pot culture, though I am not religious, I still respect the fact that some people pray to their gods, or follow the ways of their books.

Again my opinion (like it matters) the line drawn is that in public schools (state) they should say the pledge. Private schools like catholic schools (church) don't have to say it.
