i own so many normal dvds, i might invest in one that upconverts.. for the $70-100 it might be worth it. Righ tnow I'm just using my 360 for a dvd player but I don't wanna burn it out.

Don't bother. You can scale the DVD in one of two places, in the player, or in the monitor/TV/screen. The monitor knows what the output is and in most cases has much better scaling hardware than in the dvd players.

If I already had a DVD player for the living room, I may agree but right now I'm just using the 360... I want to get away from using it for movies, so since I have to buy one anyways - I might as well buy one that upconverts to 1080p.

You really don't need to bother. You will get better quality by scaling (or upconverting) in the display, not in the player.

What a load of garbage, there isn't a decent game to be had except for Warhawk,

Warhawk isn't even that great. I've never been a fan of 3rd person shooters though, so I guess I'm biased. The planes are fun to fly though.

I told my friend that he should get the Orange Box combo when it comes out for the PS3. He replied with, "Why don't you get it [for your 360]", to which I replied, "My system isn't in dire need of an amazing fps." Halo 3 multiplayer>everything else.

mmm portal.. My brain still hurts, but I beat it. And played thru the HL2 series.. twice. Halo 3's multiplayer is all messed up IMO. The sheer scale of it now (saved films, forge, yada yada) is great, but they messed up the balance of the game compared to Halo 2.
