Anyone still an Iron Maiden fan?

I was never a big fan of theirs "back in the day". I recently got ahold of a compilation of pretty much everything they have ever released to the public and I can't get enough. It seems like every time I sit at the computer I am listening to them, always humming a song by them. Its insane!
I am even considering ordering the limited edition vans....

I can skip the years when Bruce Dickinson was gone. However, "Brave New World" is on of my all time favorite albums. It was if he never left.

My only existing play list on my mp3 player is a Maiden compilation.

I don't really even consider much of the new stuff, just seemed to loose some of the magic. If Ihad to pick a favorite it would be Powerslave, although 7th son, and Somewhere in Time are close.

Apparently I don't have that. The newest ones I see are fear of the dark and no prayer for the dying. Neither of which do I particularly care for.

I will have to check into it.

That would have been a good thing to hold on to.

A buddy of mine literally had to go to the hospital one night after an LSD induced hallucination involving the Eddie poster from "The Trooper". According to him, Eddie stepped out of the poster with the sabre in hand and he took off running into a wall and split his skull open....lol crazy days, crazier nights.

I am currently jamming to Piece of Mind

                Funny Iron Maiden story.

My wife and I are in our late 30's. We order a pizza one night, and my wife answers the door wearing an old Maiden TShirt. The 18-19 year old delivery guy looks at it and says:

                "MAIDEN! Greatest band EVER!"

                Completely unexpected from a kid.

                UP THE IRONS!

I can still sing along with most of Number of The Beast, Powerslave, and Piece Of Mind.

When I was learning to play bass I cut my teeth on Maiden. Rime of the Ancient Mariner was an exercise in stamina. Play hard for almost 15 minutes straight. Lots of fun and lots of good tunes to cover.

My girl friend is, perhaps, the biggest Maiden fan ever.

                      Seriously.

                      She's awesome.

seen them in concert about a dozen times or so back in the day. Was backstage at Alpine Valley and met Dickinson and Harris on the Powerslave tour with Accept on their Metal Heart tour.
Pretty much got every album they had on vinyl still sitting around collecting dust.

I've never used a pick. By the time I was ready to learn that song, I already developed callouses on my fingertips. They were hard enough to sound like fingernails when I drummed my fingers on the table. I haven't played much since I got married though.

That reminds me of the first time i gave mushrooms to my roommate back in college.

Picture a heavyset black man listening to rap and suddenly start flipping out because he was laying on his bed and Shaq came out of his poster was goona land on him!!!!
It was one of the funniest things ive seen .......just kept screaming SHAQ DONT HURT ME>>>>>>SHAQ DONT HURT ME!!!!!!
