AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
They havent decided anything yet. That isnt even what theyre ruling on. Theyre debating whether or not the DC handgun ban is constitutional. I wouldnt be suprised in the slightest if the way the majority opinion reads out doesnt make anybody happy, as far as the NRA and the anti-gun crowd are concerned.

Thats what Im worried about though, it could wind up saying some crap like "while the individual has the constitutional right to bear arms, its reasonable for the government to place restrictions on it like having to have a trigger lock on it, while it is inside of a small gun safe inside of a larger gunsafe inside of a bank vault, unloaded, with the ammunition in a separate safe in a separate vault" etc. Granted, Im dramatizing a bit, but I highly doubt they wont leave their ruling open enough for states like California to keep pulling the crap that they do.

The NRA doesn't help any with their "dont' give an inch" attitude. Things like waiting periods, background check and the like aren't bad things, but sometimes the NRA acts like anyone should be able to walk into their local gunstore and walk out with an arsenal.

+1 If you are a legit law abiding citizen wanting to pick up a hand gun, you should have no issue with "rules" set up for you to do so. I have my CCW, in Colorado there is no waiting period (less the one it takes for them to run you through CBI which is about 10 minutes).
Due to the objections of a certain Canadian, this space is now for rent.
Had a conversation with a large group of most quite conservative, firearm owning, business men this weekend.
The general consensus was that the NRA has little or nothing to do with reality or gun ownership. The NRA should support the law abiding sporting people of this country whom wish to own guns in a safe and responsible manner.
The groups impression was that the NRA's sole purpose today is to legalize and keep legal the sale and distribution of assault weapons.
By the way all of them are paid members of the NRA.
I say down with the DC gun ban, up with responsible ownership!
I just don't understand how law makers and political activists don't see that making laws that strangle gun ownership and sale will never effect the criminals. CRIMINALS DON'T FOLLOW THE LAW!! I want to know of one case where a mass shooting was avoided because the killer thought to himself, "You know, I was going to walk to school today and kill people, but since there is a no gun policy there, I can't." Gun laws only apply to law abiding citizens.
And secondly, I would really like to read the official statement from the court if anyone comes across it.

Responsible gun ownership is all well and good, but thats not what the second amendment says. Individuals are supposed to be allowed to bear arms in a manner that when necessary, they can grab their machine gun, grenades, and a few claymores and form an effective militia. Ill be damned if Im going to let zombies overrun my house.

I also retain my security clearance from the military as well.
I dont have a waiting period on a firearm in my state,... well,.. I do actually,.. but its the length of the phone call with my SSN for someone to run a search on.
I think gun control is needed,.. but taking someones rights to bear arms is not.
I love the fact that I dont have to leave my hand gun in my truck. I can strap it to my side and carry it under my coat or leave it exposed in the hold. No one makes a deal out of it in public.
If you are a law biding Amercian Citizen,... damn right you should be allowed to carry a weapon!
I love my country and I love my rights as an American. I hunt, I fish, and I shoot for sport. I have my own gun control,... its called "common sense". I follow my local & federal laws and I can carry a weapon and hunt as I wish because I love to do so.
Theres a few things in life some people dont like..... guns are one of them.
When someone has the notion to stand up on the soap box and cry about "gun control" in this country,.... I get up on mine and remind them how this country was formed. Last time I checked,.... we didnt cut a deal with the British,... we paid for our rights in blood. That blood was spilled by men with guns and a need to secure their beliefs.

I attend church. I have been asked just how is it that I could belive in owning firearms muchless using them against another. It is sad that the public schools no longer teach the specifics of "the shot heard around the world". How it was fired on a church property by one of its members. That this is the "start" of how we gained our freedom.
