Think I am going to buy an Uzi.

I went to a sub gun shoot yesterday and won second place in my division. First shoot, and first time using an Uzi. It was semi with steel sights. Great shooter.
I will not be able to get the license for a full auto cause I have been a bad man, but the semi was plenty fun, affordable in both cost and ammo and as I understand it extremely durable and easy to maintain.

I have found a few ranging from just under $6 to just under $700. I would need a dealer to transfer the one under 6 and they usually charge between 25-50 to do that.

I am going to do a bit of looking around and see what I come up with. Also want to check into clubs running shoots up in my area.

Go cheap and get a Beretta CX4 storm. It's more a carbine than a submachinegun, but it's generally cheaper and more useful than an Uzi, which I consider to be one-trick ponies.

Stick with 9mm, probably the cheapest full up pistol ammo out there.

I think the point is, he would like to continue shooting subgun matches...

/personally I like 3 gun matches (pistol, shotgun, carbine) but my .223 costs have went though the roof... and to augment my regular AR training ive switched up to playing airsoft with some friends from work.

Point taken. Maybe an MP5 carbine then? I dunno, I've never been a fan of the Uzis.

And yes, .223 has gotten insane lately. I always wanted to try the 3 gun, it's just harder to find places to practice out here in the NE than it was in the west.

I'm debating whether or not i should even wonder what you've done to make it so you can't get a full auto license.

Can you elaborate? Is this limited to brass or over all and why?

                        The war, plain and simple.

Yeah, with the war on there are no surplus ammunitions left available and the demand went up.....

I have a marijuana charge which will keep me from getting the full auto license I imagine. It is a misdemeanor, but I can't even get a concealed carry permit so I would imagine the other is just harder to get.

I posted a video of my first stage above. I was a bit unfamiliar with the shotgun. That was the first time ever even getting a look at it and couldn't find the breech release. It was a winchester I believe.

Yes, whatever gun I find is going to have to be able to be used for subgun matches. The mac is not only heavier, but considerable more expensive. I like the uzi because it is light, simple and I was able to shoot it quite well for the first time ever picking one up. I figure that given its entry price and available upgrades it would do well to stay in my stable even IF I progress into something I like better down the road.

My buddy was using a AR-15 with a 9mm receiver adapter and it gave him fits all day long. His father, from whom I was borrowing the Uzi, was using an Uzi as well. His was f/a and suppressed. The blowback gasses caused by the suppressor was causing him trouble by the time we got to the third bay.

This was the first time they had put on a sub/shotgun shoot. We used the shotguns on two of the stages. You could also carry your sidearm as a backup. The new safety rules put into effect for this match slowed everyone down a considerable amount. Before they had not been using barrel flags and someone put a round through a picnic table in staging right between two other competitors. I like that they went this route as even being around all the firepower I felt very safe the whole time.

Lots of fun, and I am going to look some places up around here to become involved. Then find a nice gun to use.

The FN PS90 is a great option you may want to look at as well, but in the video it looked like you did really well with the Uzi.

                              Steel,

I found what I consider to be an exceptional deal on one of these chambered in 40S&W for $524 shipped NIB. I know that the ammo will make up the price pretty quick, but that just seems too good to be true.
Do you own one of these and how are you liking yours so far?
